"Coffee can't keep you up forever," Mira bit back. "You think only caffeine can keep you going in a life or death situation? Please. Sometimes I don't know where your mind is, Buzz."
Wire sent Anderson a questioning glance that Anderson only shrugged to.
"Might I suggest you stop bickering for one moment please? If any passers-by hear your shouting they might not come in. I have a business to run, you know."
"You're right," Anderson drawled. "But I am the boss, you see. And you are only a customer. I make the choises you don't. And you might as well zip it, thank you."
Mira leaned in close, whispering in Buzz's ear. "Just play along for now, please? Whatever they do is up to them. And besides, that Wire guy doesn't even look fazed."
She was right, Wire was right back sitting in his spot, arms over his chest, his eyes staring off at them without ever blinking. Clearly all emotion before was gone now.
"Put it down!" Mira, Wire, and Anderson said all at once. Two were a bit panicked, one was a bit annoyed.
"If you're thinking of giving that to Zurg, forget it now. That's like giving a kid sugar before bed. You know what he can do with that thing?" She answered her own question before giving Buzz time to reply. "He'll make it into some dangerous weapon we'll have to face soon enough."
"Plus it's not for sale." Wire chipped in.
"Yes, that one is...most delicate and not really a reasonable thing to give as a gift." Wire took it off of Buzz, putting it back where it belonged. Just like a mother would to a child with a 5,000$ glass vase he just picked off a random shelf.
"Bravo," Anderson said to Mira. "You'll become a great mother someday, with that authority of yours. Ever thought of running your own company?"
"Sorry, but no. And thanks for the comment." She was a little sincere with the latter. Thinking of it now, she wondering how future children would react to her voice of command. Probably better than Buzz would.
"How about the capes then?" Wire asked, taking Buzz by the arm, dragging him towards the racks again. "How about this?"

“Hey! I don’t –”
“Aagh, fine, whatever.”
Buzz rolled his eyes and whispered back, “Whatever.” These guys were just plain weird, end of story.
Buzz jumped slightly but lowered the sword.
“No, he wouldn’t,” Buzz returned with conviction. “Even the Evil Emperor would have respect for a work of art like that – he wouldn’t change it. He’d probably save it to duel me or something.”
Buzz let the sword go and watched it with a rather mournful air. That was a real beauty.
Mira, a mother? Buzz almost snickered at the thought – almost. He pitied any kid who’d have to put up with her redheaded-ness.
Buzz sighed and started browsing through the capes. Some of them looked really nice, but what judge was he, Buzz Lightyear, of capes? “Mira, a little help, please? I don’t have a clue what I’m looking for.”

Mira sighed, rolling her eyes. It was just like dealing with a child.
"Another point," Mira stated. "Do you really want to go up against something that can clearly tear your arm off?"
"She has a point," Anderson cut in. He immediately recieved a pleasant glare from Mira. "Shut up is what you want to say, right?"
"What would you men do without a woman's point of view?" She all but sang as she came up next to him, peering at the rack of horrible looking capes---well, in her opinion anyway. She wasn't really too fond of capes, she always got the feeling they were downfalls to villains.
"How about the silk one? It has a deep purple tinge to it. You know how he is with purple?"

Buzz just rolled his eyes and turned away.
“Ha-ha-ha,” Buzz retorted.
“Hey, yeah!” Buzz held it up and studied it. “Yeah, I think this would be good – thanks, Mira. Mr. Anderson?”

Mira lightly slapped him against his arm, a playful grin on her face.
"Ah, the Norwegian Royal Silk, a very nice pick." Anderson took the cape from the rack, placing it neatly over his arm almost like a waiter would at a 5 star resturant. "Now if you'll follow me to the check out we can get this wrapped for you. Now, would you like it sent to the this Zurg person by our shipping department? We usually open that section up around this tiime of year."
"Why not?" Mira shrugged. "It's not like we can leave it on his door step in broad...what is it, sunset there? We'd get hornets scouting for us till New Years."

“That’s for sure,” Buzz laughed. “Mr. Anderson, that should be just fine.” He took out a sheet of paper and a pen and jotted down the coordinates for Planet Z and the Z Tower. “How much will that be?”

"How much? Well, considering this is real silk then I guess around...200$ unibucks."

Buzz nodded slowly, then shrugged. “’Kay.” At the checkout area, he fished his wallet out and said, “Do you prefer cash, check, or credit card?”

"Anythings fine. Now, Miss Nova, was it? Anything you have your eyes set on? We have much more back here, as you can see."
Mira shook her head. "Sorry, but no. I was planning to hit a few more stores and head home soon."
Anderson nodded. He was a bit reluctant to let these customers go, but he couldn't pry. Anyways, he had a few more tricks up his leave after they left.
"Right. Well, lets wrap this cape up and send it before it's too late. Christmas is right around the corner, as they say."

Buzz pulled out the correct amount of unibucks - yes, he really did carry around that much cash sometimes (never know when it might come in handy) - and handed it over to Anderson. "Right. Thanks."

"Come again, soon."
Mira smiled taking Buzz by the arm "We'll make sure to do that soon. Come on Buzz, we have to finish shopping or no one beside Zurg is getting a presant."
She smiled at Anderson and Wire again before hurridly making a way out the door. When she felt cold air hit her face it felt like needles being poked into her skin. She closed her eyes as a sharp wind just then blew her hair and the hood of her coat in all sorts of directions.
The wind was worse than the cold air hitting her face. This time it felt like icecubes being thrown at her like baseballs at a home game.
"Craters, when did the weather get this bad?" She looked up and swallowed, hard.
"H-hey Buzz? Umm, can you asnwer me this? When did it get dark out? Or ten o'clock?" She yelped, looking over at the digital clock across the street that blinked annoyingly in green neon lights, 10:04.
"How long were we in there.....The shops gone!" When Mira turned around to head back in all that met her was a pale brick wall and a loose hanging poster that flapped in the wind, ready to break free from its binding.

((Oops, sorry about the wait, Cherry! Eh-heh… *guilty look* Btw, I was thinking… this little shopping trip would probably take place before all the hullabaloo got started – maybe just a few days before, and at the end, Buzz asks Mira if she’d like to go out on Saturday? ((And as for Mira’s role in this latest chaos… I can’t believe it, but I just about forgot about her when Buzz was getting ready to go to Planet Z! I’m so sorry – I have no idea how that happened! So my idea is that we start another thread that goes back to Star Command’s MedBay and is before Buzz and Warp’s little conversation. Buzz and Mira talk for a bit, and then after Buzz is gone, then you’re free to continue on as a side-thread with Mira and Woody. Sound good?))
“What the~??” Buzz shook his head in shock, blinking. “Mira, I have no idea!” He stepped up to the wall and pounded against it with one fist. “Mr. Anderson? Mr. Anderson!”

((Don't worry about it, Sky. Actually you gave me more time to think about what Mira and Woody are going to do. And the new thread sounds like a good idea so do you want to start it with Buzz asking Mira to speak to her alone?))
"Buzz, you're speaking to a brick wall. And people are starting to stare. Come on, let head towards somewhere private."
Mira took Buzz by the arm, casually walking down the street like an ordinary couple would. It was actually a good disguse really, and nothing looked abnormal about it at all.
Maybe she should be an undercover agent. That would be fun.
"So...that was weird. You think that was another Zurg plot? I mean he could have probed our brains into thinking we went into a store like that?"
That was hard to believe but after years of being a Space Ranger and a member of Team Lightyear anything could be possible. Espeically when one hung around one Buzz Lightyear.

((Okay, goodie! Yeah, I’ll do that – with the thread-starting, I mean.))
Buzz’s eyebrows knit together. “Ehhh, I… don’t think so. Anderson and Wire… not Zurg’s style.” He shook his head as if to clear it. “Craters, that was just too weird.”

Mira shrugged. "It was weird, but, what else could it have been? It might not have been Zurg, but someone else? Any other evil doer that likes to mess with minds that want to destroy you come to mind?"
There was a nearby cafe that was still opening, people spilling in and out in large crowds.
"How about a cup of coffee? To warm us up and get our minds off of things. I think I need something to perk me up with."
