Almost like us. Cora thought silently. She opened her mouth to say just that then figured she was on thin ice already. No need to make it worse.
She saw Mira sneak her a look. It was quick but she understood what it meant. Don't goof up. She seemed to be stirring up a lot of commotion around here lately and maybe Mira was right. Maybe she should shut up and sit down for the remainder of the ride.
Question is, how long will that be?

Suddenly, the thrusters revved, and Buzz struggled with the controls. “What the~??”
“The thrusters are malfunctioning!” XR reported. “They’re having energy spurts!”
Buzz grimaced – the Dreadnought was suddenly closer than he wanted it to be. “Hold on!” He wrestled with the helm and eased down on the thrusters, slowly so that they wouldn’t have a burnout on-top of a malfunction.
All the while, the Dreadnought grew closer.
At last, the thrusters died, and Buzz exhaled sharply. “What the galaxy was that??”
“I’m not sure,” XR replied, not looking up from his console. “You should know, though, that we’re well within sensor range of the Dreadnought.”
“Blast!”
“If we’re at minimum power, though, they might not detect us…” Ricki said uncertainly.
“Rick, we’re close enough that they can see us if they look,” Erin pointed out, half-moaning.
“XR, can I re-engage the thrusters?” Buzz asked.
“I think so… maybe…”
“‘Maybe’ isn’t good enough, Ranger! Yes or no??”
XR winced, then sighed. “I wouldn’t.”
Closing his eyes, Buzz tilted his head back against the headrest. “Terrific – we’re sitting ducks. When did I lose control of the universe?”
“I’d say it was about forty years ago,” Erin muttered. Buzz heard her but chose not to comment.

Hellboy cocked a brow, his arms at his side as he looked up at Zurg sitting high above his throne. He even had to crane his neck back to get him in his line of sight. “Not that I’m doubting your ‘Evil Emperor’ senses,” he started, rubbing his goatee pensively, “but what exactly are we looking for anyway?”

The Evil Emperor let out an innocent chuckle at his newest addition, and simply shook his head; all the while still smiling and chuckling as if something was apparently funny.
"My dear Agent Red~!" He cooed down to the minion. "We're not exactly looking for anything in particular!" Zurg explained with a smug gesture.
"If my hunch is correct, we'll find exactly what we need by it finding us--!"
"Your Evilness." A grub spoke up, hobbling closer towards the red man in case a heat shield would be needed. "Your Dreadnaught's scanners have picked up a rather odd disturbance near the posterior of the ship. If calculations are correct, we believe it to be the signature of a small ship operating within minimal capacity."
"Like I said." Zurg smiled even wider, giving Agent Red a gleam in his eyes. "We'll find exactly what we're looking for. SEND OUT A TETHER! We're going to have some company."

Hellboy’s eyes lit up. “I hope there’s gonna be some fighting. I could use a workout.”

"If all goes well, we'll avoid any unnecessary conflict." But there was no denying the agent's bloodlust, and Zurg could see it within the man's opaque, yellow eyes that he wanted to beat upon something mercilessly.
Oh well. Zurg was a charmer, not a fighter, but a little skirmish of cat and mouse now and then wouldn't do harm.
"But, if things become sticky, you've got my permission to...settle the situation." He added. "After all, the two of us against them evens it a bit, don't you think?"

“They’re sending a tow cable our way!” XR cried.
“Blast it!” So much for stealth. “XR, thrusters??”
“Still giving off weird readings.”
Buzz shook his head. “I’ve gotta risk it,” he said through clenched teeth. He fired up the thrusters, and the ship immediately shot forward. Buzz brought the thrusters into reverse… and the ship stalled. “No!”
“Buzz, that cable’s getting closer!” Erin warned.
“Booster, power up shields and weapons now! Blast that cable if you can!”
“Yes, sir!” 42 immediately powered up once more. The cable now very close, Booster fired off several shots at it.

This is not good Things had gone from bad to worse way too fast. The ship decided that it didn't want to work anymore, there was a docking cable about to latch onto them, there was almost nothing they could do about it.
Warp had half a mind to run done to the engine room and bang the engine with a wrench, and then maybe try to fix it. The only problem was it would take too long.
"Well this beats all..." He fummed quietly.

Well now everything just hit the fan. Zurg was going to capture them and there was nothing they could do about it.
Cora reached into her pocket, feeling the watch's smooth serface in her hands. Could she use this is order to save everyone? If so would she use up its power, making it impossible to get her home?
She looked down at her pocket, about to lift up the watch till Mira yelled at her.
"Cora, whatever you're thinking, stop it now!" Cora's hand shot from her pocket like she touched a burning stove. How in the world did Mira know what she was thinking?
But Mira ignored her and instead payed attention more to what was going on then what Cora was doing anymore.
"XR do you think we have enough power to send an emergency signal to Star Command?"

Buzz jerked slightly as Mira yelled, but didn’t turn.
XR didn’t look up from his console as he answered Mira. “Sure do! Send it!”

"Already did!" Mira yelled back. Hopefully someone at Star Command (Commander Nebula especially) got the signal.

"Reported shots fired, your Evilness!" A Dreadnaught operator wailed from its combat station.
"Uh-huh! Ion signatures relate to Star Command-grade plasma cannons for star cruisers!" Another confirmed as the rest of the staff went back to furiously punching in commands and possible counter-measures.
Zurg knew what this meant. Ohohohoho~!
"Only one Space Ranger I know would give the order to shoot at a tether. VID UP! I WANT A SCREEN TO CONFIRM!" The Evil Emperor barked.
Within moments, a holographic projection snapped on from the floor lights below to reveal none other than a white and green star cruiser. It seemed to be currently struggling, almost drifting in space on its last thruster; the number '42' boldly painted on its sides.
"Hmph. 42." But Zurg didn't let his twitch last long and he was already on top of the situation. "Alright, my stinky little staff! Get that tether attached and dispatch an escort party of Beetles and Hornets! Send a few Weevils for the Tangean and don't be stingy with the Tekno-tiks in case the robot tries to hijack the ship's AI again!"
"Your Evilness! What about the ship's distress call?" A grub cried from below through all the chaos.
"Hmm...Don't bother! We're in an ion pocket!" Zurg chuckled, tapping his plated talons together most fiendishly. Thanks to the ion pocket, it had no doubt stalled Lightyear's pathetic vessel of a star cruiser! The Dreadnaught would never succumb to such small things! Thank Zurg's budget for that.
"If all goes as planned, we'll be having some guests along~! Now, send out those robots!"

Booster’s shots couldn’t score a mark on the cable – Buzz briefly wished that the pilot console of the team cruisers had weapons control.
A group of Zurg’s combat ‘bots shot out of the Dreadnought and toward 42. Booster’s shots destroyed a couple of them, but they kept on coming.
“All right, CODE RED!” Buzz shouted, surging to his feet. “Prepare for combat!” He turned to their youngest passenger. “Cora! You have a weapon, right?”
((@cherry: Is Cora wearing some kind of spacesuit? Keep forgetting to ask. =P ))

((Oh, uh discription...discription. Yeah, she's wearing a space suit. Its a skin tight black one made for Junior Rangers. She's also wearing a cloak over top it. ))
"My laser gun! But that's all though!" She didn't have the nerve to tell him she also had a small dagger with her as well. It was a birthday present given to her by a friend, just incase, you know, something bad happened on a mission.
Like now.
She still didn't tell her future dad and there was no way she was going to tell this version either.
"XR do you have a back up just in case?" Mira yelled over her shoulder again. She couldn't take her eyes of the main screen just yet. Too many things were going on to divert her attention now.

((All rightie, thanks~! ^^))
“That’s better than nothing,” Buzz told her.
“What, emergency beacon?” he asked, his fingers flying over his console. “Beamed one out from here, too, yeah.”
