"Not that! A gun for Cora! Just in case." It was different for Mira to sound mother-like. Even worrying over whether her future daughter was armed enough to be safe was foreign to her. Was she like this in the future?
Craters! She needed to pay attention to what was going on around them. Zurg seemed to be sending out more hornets than necessary at the moment.

“Of course, I do!” A couple of blasters sprung out of XR’s chassis, and he quickly slammed it closed. “I always have extra weapons, Mira!”

"Then give Cora one!" Mira yelled back. Cora slightly sank down in her seat. Not five minutes of knowing she was her daughter and she's already over protective.

“All right, all right – yeesh!” XR tossed Cora a blaster.

About freaking time, you two! Warp was doing his best to conceal the fact that his temper was just this close to exploding in his teammates faces. More in XR's face than Mira's. If the exchange had lasted another ten seconds, they would've seen a side of him that only Buzz and Erin had ever had to see.
He glanced up at the main viewport to see the docking cable that was only a second or two way for latching onto the ship, more robots than he bothered to count, and no way of avoiding any of it.
"Are we all ready now?" He said it more to himself than to anyone esle. "'Cause in another minute, this might not be this pretty."

And the Rangers got prepared not a moment too soon.
The first thing to go were the thrusters with a nasty, ship-rocking explosion as the Beetles launched their plasma volleys relentlessly. The next thing that went was the outward starboard airlock as the Hornets successfully cut through it with their super-heated weaponry. Air was dramatically sucked out into the greedy vacuum of space in seconds as the gleaming, yellow automatons boarded without invitation. And behind them came two glimmering auras, the presence of the Weevils glaringly there yet invisible to remain hidden from there on in.
"Ohhhh, Lightyeeeear~!"
The ship's main communication display popped on with a wink and with perhaps the least person any of them wanted to see.
"Lightyear, are you there~! Ah! There you are!" The Evil Emperor Zurg smiled as he got closer to the camera, the screen practically taking up his face as he eyed them. "The whole crowd is there, plus Darkmatter and...Why, who is this~? I don't think I've meet the little Tangean girl. Extended family, perhaps~?"
With a snap of his fingers, the robots retracted their weaponry back into merciless talons and they began to stand at attention.
"But enough chit-chat! Why don't you come in~! Come, come! There's plenty of room for all~!"
And as the robots each wrapped one of their cold, mechanical hands around the "guests'" shoulders, they really had no choice--more or less a chance.
Looks like they were going for the ride.

As the ship rocked from the explosions, XR summed the day up pretty well. “Oh, this just gets better and better.”
The Rangers never had a chance to fight. All too soon, Zurg was gloating while the ‘bots clamped down on them. “It’s not over till it’s over, Zurg,” Buzz growled, struggling against his hornets. But the crowded cruiser bridge had no space to maneuver, no room to throw off the ‘bots.
((Sooo… are they being brought up to the Dreadnought now?))

Cora growled under her breath and before she made the mistake and snapped back at the emperor, her mother's words kept echoing in her head.
So she bit her lip till it bled, allowing the taste of blood to linger in her mouth. She hated Zurg with a passion but she wasn't up to get her and her family into even more trouble than it was worth.
It didn't seem right to allow Zurg the knowledge that she was Lightyear's kid.

((It’s just been attacked by PROCRASTINATION, I think. Guess I’ll get things moving again then.))
The Hornets soon brought in Lightyear and his hapless motley crew, depositing them on the centre of the bridge before Zurg’s raised throne. The various grubs and brainpods lingering at their stations could not help but focus their attention on the newcomers. Something told them that this time was different from all the others—and not just the presence of an unfamiliar face. The Hornets released them and took a few steps back, keeping a respectful distance from them so their boss could address them easily, but morphed their talons back into weapons to be well-prepared all the same.
Hellboy sufficed to merely have his wristlaser poised and at the ready, his pupil-less eyes training on them with practiced ease. He ran all their names through his head, recalling them from his “studies”, but could not for the life of him recall the name of the pale blue-skinned girl. He surmised that she was some sort of Tangean or half-breed like Darkmatter, but there was something about her bearing that said otherwise, though the demon could not put his finger on it.
“Look what the cat dragged in,” he drawled. “Uninvited guests.” He snorted derisively. “Don’t make me laugh.”
Was this really the best they could throw at them? What a disappointment.

((Actually, I was waiting for EEZ to basically do what you just did, Steel. )) The Rangers more or less quickly pushed themselves back up. “Is that the best you can come up with?” Buzz shot back at Hellboy. “Hellboy, please – I’ve heard better lines from the lowlifes on Tradeworld.” “Yeah, and it’s nobody’s fault that the engine stalled,” Erin commented easily, brushing off imaginary dust. She turned to XR for confirmation. “Right?” “Uh, yeah – nobody’s fault!” XR said quickly – much too quickly. Buzz almost smacked his forehead. His robot teammate sounded guilty, and blast it! if it turned out that they were in this position because XR had done something to the ship… It just wouldn’t be pretty – nope, not at all.

Cora kind of just stared wide-eyed when she met Hellboy face to face. Crap was he menacing. The laser didn't do crap to scare her, his face did though. Never in her years as she ever saw something so...so cool looking.
Crap that scared her deserved credit, and Hellboy was definitely worthy of that honor.
"Holy crap, are you for real or some very wickedly made robot?" Cora asked out loud, astounded that she managed to get a word out edgewise.
She felt someone --probably Mira-- smack her on the back of the head. Now wasn't the time to be sarcastic!

((I’m sure she won’t mind. She’s been busy the past few days so she probably just forgot.))
“I’m not out to impress you; I’m just out to kick your ass,” Hellboy drawled, looking Ligthyear up and down with a bored-looking gaze.
He had been about to add to that comment when the teenager cut in, catching him completely off-guard. He blinked and drew out of his half-crouch slightly, just staring at her in disbelief and anger. Him? A robot? He’d been called close to just about anything you could possibly imagine, but never had he been mistaken for something non-organic before. He found it more insulting than all the “devilkids” and “demonspawns” combined.
“You don’t see me calling you a freak of nature,” he snarled, clenching his stone hand into a fist. His temper was beginning to get the better of him, but he knew better than to do anything that Zurg wouldn’t approve of. He’d brought them here for some reason or other. Best to let things play out and get a piece of them later.

"Freak of nature? Bite your tongue low horns! I was giving you a compliment. It's not every day I get to see something like you. I thought Zurg might of just gotten creative for a change."
Mira slapped her on the back of the head again, harder this time. "Cora, if you value your life, shut up now."
She said that in a hush voice, but the threat was still there. Cora gulped, holding herself and sliding back by her mother. Mira was about a few years older than her in this time period, but the glare was the same; threatening and cold as ever.

Low-horns? Oh, that just took the cake. Still, at least she’d seen them for what they were and hadn’t call them goggles. Slightly redeeming, but not by much. He still wanted to punch something.
But Hellboy settled for merely growling deep in his throat and resumed his previous stance. “Yes, Cora,” he spat, showing that his hearing was still as impeccable as ever. “You’d better shut up if you value your life.”
