Laugh if you're an organic, but scream if you're a robot XD
*gigglespaz* I'm unique in my own sick, twisted, little way XD
It's not my fault really! The brain pods are pretty perverted...they tell me jokes and all sorts of stuff. The hornets think it's funny, but I kinda stop chewing when I hear one...Food should go down, not up XD

Yeah....anti-gravity sucks when that happens. Nothing is worse than seeing that bowl of cosmic chili you just ate float around your face.
although it is good enough to eat a second time...the chili that is. Don't try it on an already consumed hot-dog

I don't like water either...it makes me all sticky and kinda moldy smelly.
*whip out turbo dryer*
This is still a prototype, so can you please sign your name on this waiver? Oh and don't pay attention to the part where you could lose all your fur...

i dunno... you'd have to look into the robots themselves... most of the robots seems to have personality, and sometimes act like organics do... what exactly sets XR from other robots? he hangs out with organics more? he thinks like a human? has a sense of humor? (please give examples?)

Well...
The BLoSC people are sort of inconsistent when it comes to robots. MOST of them are one-dimensional and act like they only have programmed personalities, such as the Carebots and the PC-7 computer. Also, all the robots in 'The Slayer' seem flat and programmed (minus XR, of course). In fact, the only robots I can think of that have personality that cannot be explained away by programming are XL and XR, who are both defective, and one robot from Wirewolf. And maybe NOS.
(42 doesn't count for ANYTHING, sorry.)

oh i see... i think... then how come the auto pilot robot in Nos 4 A2 is so annoyingly sarcastic? last time i checked robots aren't supposed to feel annoyance... or feel for that matter... you see a lot of robots in the blosc reacting and doing some kind of unrobotish thing... or maybe i'm muddled...

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. Like I said, they're pretty inconsistent sometimes. Some episodes have robots acting like people, and some don't, which is frustrating.
However, I've noticed that whenever XR tries to interact with a robot, he gets brushed off... with the exception of that one sentry-bot in Wirewolf. (like I said. I'm not counting 42 as ANYTHING except one of BLoSC's failed love-interests, like Ozma.)
Of course, the same usually happens with people, too.

but to have the majority of bot population to brush him off still needs a good explanation... you don't see majority of robots hanging out with the organics like XR does, maybe they brush hi off because he stinks of organics? i don't mean that mechanicals hate organics, but rather just do their jobs and that's that... i doubt they'd understand why XR behaves like an organic, and maybe that's why they shun him... abnormal behavior... so they have humanish qualities, but they believe themselves as totally different to humans... and since XR has broken the barrier with him actually mingling among the organics like it's no big deal and being involved with human activities, it's kinda unheard of and maybe even taboo?

...YES! THAT'S IT! THANK. YOU. He wants to be one of the organics, but he CAN'T and now it's too late to be one of the robots. Sad, really. Also, it seems like most robots don't require any social interaction even among themselves. There are two married couples I've seen, but both were in The Slayer, which was a really screwed-up episode anyway... and every other robot I've seen has either been alone or in a DISATROUS partnership (Return of the Monsters).

yikes, and since XR is majorly chatty and social, no wonder he stands out so much! so I guess another thing that sets XR apart is chattiness and randomness, as humans are inconsistent compared to robots... but you find that XR isn't completely detached from robots either. He's not a gushy sap compared to Booster, and even with his openness, it's still hard for him to connect to the organics... i noticed that XR is the most sarcastic and pessimistic around Booster. I think in some ways, he envies Booster, his naivity, his unfailing optimism, and his constant awe of the world. XR didn't have any of that; as a robot built to be a Ranger, he already knows most of the dangers that comes in all situations, whereas Booster is only a Rookie, completely oblivious to the danger and thinking that all people are more or less friends. Booster also has this ability that makes people love him (in Revenge of the Raenoks, everyone including himself was worried for Booster when he got captured.) XR probably envies that ability, so in turn tries to be a bit mean to the guy that everyone loves. But Booster is so oblivious and so nice, that XR can't hate him for too long, which probably makes it all the worse... (i think he envies his whole team, but Booster probably the most.)

True, but that could be either robot-ness or character development, really.
I've noticed he seems happier and more open in earlier episodes- he actually has no trouble gushing in 'The Adventure Begins' and 'NOS-4-A2'.
Aaand whenever Commander Nebula is around.
HOWEVER- later on, he becomes oddly closed around his 'dad'. He gets all this attention in the end of 'Return of XL' and his only response is about his still-missing AFD.
I would say it's just an error on the part of the writers, but he does the same thing in 'Downloaded'. It's almost like he doesn't care any more... maybe that's why we see Commander Nebula warming up to him in 'Revenge of the Reanoks'.
Wow, so you see that too?
I think he DEFINITELY envies Booster.
Don't forget that he's also been directly exposed to most of those dangers by now.
