I think he does have lips. ....I don't know why he has them, but... He probably needs lips to say certain words, or at least tongue twisters... ;D and yes, that cap has to come off... (Xr looks hilarious when he's kissing, again because of the darn cap...) but then again, how's his head supposed to stay upright?

I've always wondered that. I thought maybe his helmet was some sort of vacuum, but then I saw that his head stays up fine without it. That should be our next debate... how does XR's head stay up?

I just assume it's technology that hasn't been invented outside of the cartoon yet. Helps my brain not implode

perhaps it's magnetism or something at work... (if you get two really powerful magnets and try to attach them at the opposite poles, they float.) or then again, what kila said... XD

Well, I considered magnetism. But if that's what it ist, how does NOS-4-A2 hover?
Also, his head seems too mobile for that, really.

I always wondered why XR's head isn't rust proof... I figured that the LGMs used a different type of metal for his head and terrilium for the rest... the metal would have to be magnetic, maleable, light, and not interfere with his fragile wirings inside... but that would mean in exchange for flexibilty, the metal would be kinda weak and not rust proof... the cap would serve as to protect the fragile head from obvious damage, as well as small things like sand and dust that would ruin the complex mechanics inside and his joints, not to mention dirty his optical sensors... I like thinking these technical theories... they're so much fun!

...wow, that's what I always thought, too. I figured the metal on his face must be softer, to allow for all those great expressions...

all righty then! XR's programming... does it have anything to do with his personality? or is his robot side and "human side" totally separate? (Lord knows what the LGMs did to him in his rebirth... and Buzz himself said that the LGMs were miracle workers when they managed to separate 42 from the rest of the ship and into her new body... )

XR's programming... does it have anything to do with his personality? or is his robot side and "human side" totally separate? I think they are. There are a few episodes (Speed Trap, It's A Zoo Out There) where XR is reprogrammed to carry out a certain task, and not only does his personality NOT change, but he gets very angry that he's being made to do something he doesn't want to do.
