Ah yes, the movie in which we learn why XR is strange and XRlike. 1337.

the adventure begins, where the adventure... BEGAN!
yay awesomeness!, the first parts with warp were cool. I wish they had used those wing grapples more often (or... again!), they were cool.
If anything I don't like that they waited until the end of the movie to make Booster wear a space suit, as a character they should have made him wear the clothing he was gonna have on the most a lot earlier. This due to establishment, it's like with logos, when they are created, a very few allowed versions are created as well (they should be less than 10, original, in greys, other in black. etc) but the point is that logo should always look the same when possible. As a matter of fact changing a logo can even be made illegal and forbidden, specially for companies that rent (or sell) their image (like subway, each store can have a different owner).
I think that the scene where Booster breaks the suit is funny, and a keeper, but maybe they should have found later a single, extra large suit, and Booster (or Buzz) removing the wings emblem because he wasn't a ranger just yet.
Or maybe an emergency civilian space suit with the colors of star command (with no weapons or wings emblem).

The rangers arguing over nose rings.
That was one of the best parts of the movie.
"Who's getting a nose ring? *gasp* That's why Buzz wants to ditch us!"

I wish the whole series had this kind of quality animation!! *sniff*

The quality's not THAT much better. X3; The animation in the series is still cel shaded and stuff. I actually prefer the look of most of the TV show... Wirewolf has better animation, IMO.

Yeah... me too, and it's done by the same studio MWAHAHAHA...
as far as I know at least : o
But they certainly look different, slightly, but yeah.
They have a different control over animators for movies, direct to video movies, and tv.
So for movies, they are tight, it's all rigid and strict.
For direct to video not so much but still.
For tv HURRY UP. ARE YOU DONE YET? UP! UP!

Ha ha, yeah.
The series does have a few episodes where the animation is absolutely in the toilet. 'The Main Event', 'Star Smasher' and that perennial NOT A FAVORITE, 'The Slayer'.

I honestly thought that Sunquake had some of the most dynamic animation of the series. It actually made use, to some degree, of ambient lighting and mood. TAB wasn't bad. I think the biggest mark against it was Tim Allen (don't shoot me!) but I do have the versions that Patrick voiced for the show on tape, which makes me happy.
I'd say it was a pretty good beginning. It spawned one heck of a fun show.

Tim Allen stinks. XDDD; I mean, come on. He's all flat and boring.
The biggest mark against the movie, for me, is that Team Lightyear doesn't get together until near the end (and XR doesn't even show up until halfway through, nrrgh). They're the most fun to watch when everyone's together.
One thing that I like about the movie is... when XR gets destroyed on his first mission Buzz is all le sad and serious... 'we have a ranger down', etc. In the series, with a few exceptions they're all like 'AW CRAP, THAT ROBOT BLEW UP AGAIN. D<'

Yeah, Buzz was all sad when XR got busted. It was kind of a dramatic moment. I wish it more like that in the series. Not just like, "XR blew up again. Oh well, just put him back together and let's go."

I actually like Tim Allen as Buzz more than Patrick Warburton. Pat's a great Buzz Lightyear, but Tim Allen is THE Buzz Lightyear, IMHO. And I like the addled LGMs. "What's this thing?" "That's an ARM." "Told you."
"Who authorized that launch?" "It wasn't us... was it?"
