I have NEVER understood that viewpoint. It must be me then, not many get that point of view. Buzz is a great character though and I do like him.

I do share your viewpoint, actually. So you're not alone.
I think an adventure without Buzz would be just as acceptable as an episode of Seinfeld without Seinfeld: perfectly fine. The supporting characters of any medium are almost always the best because their personalities are designed to bounce off of the protagonist, and if you took the protagonist out of the picture for a while, it'd be interesting to see the end result...
The only possible plot I could think of would be Buzz is just...gone for some reason, and then the remaining members of Team Lightyear go off to look for him.
/end two cents.

That sounds like it would be a good episode, I like that idea.

I bet when they find him he's doing something really stupid like fishing or something and they all go 'YOU DISAPPEARED WE WERE WORRIED' :~;
and Buzz is like 'lol wut'

Yes, it did, but that was an actual brainwash scenario. Buzz wasn't just on a vacation, he was kidnapped.

But nevertheless, the others went looking for him... so I think loony's scenario might work if Buzz wasn't the reason the others went on an adventure. Because if the reason they're on their own is because they go looking for him, Buzz is still the center of attention.

It's fine that he is the center of attention, in fact, ideal
It's Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, but, hey!, where IS Buzz?
yup, we're looking for him.
acknowledging his absence, maybe justifying it, a detective episode of some sort.
