Warp laid his tux on one of the pews as he said, "Hmm. Guess I should get used to that, shouldn't I."

Mira bit her lip and got the ruffles out of the dress, smoothing it out till it looked almost perfect. "Any jewelry to go with it?"

Buzz resisted the urge to smile wickedly – Erin did have some annoying habits. “You bet.”
“Uh-huh.” Erin pulled a small black jewelry box out of her duffel, along with two red-and-blue pieces of tartan and two sterling-silver clasps in the shape of the Star of David. “Tartans go on first, though.” The larger tartan she draped around her shoulders and pinned with one of the clasps to her left shoulder. The smaller tartan she settled around her waist and clasped over her right hip.
Then she opened up the jewelry box and withdrew a Celtic cross necklace and a pair of Celtic Trinity-knot earrings. She quickly fastened on the jewelry, then turned to look at herself in the mirror provided. “Umm… Okay, makeup, and then you can put my veil on.” Quickly but carefully, she applied some rose-ish lipstick and russet eye-shadow.
That was when Petra stuck her head in. “Almost done? I’ve got the bouquet… Oh wow, Erin – you look fabulous.”

Mira was just helping Erin put on the finishing touches when Petrs came in.
"Ok, now all we have to do is wait for the groom then it begins. Nervous?"

((sry about the lateness of the post. Wasn't home at all unless I was getting ready to go somewhere else. but hey, i posted))
Warp smirked at Buzz's reply, knowing that there was more to it than what appeared, but decided to let it go for the moment as there were more pressing things to worry about.
"So, is this going to be one of those "no more than usual" plans or is it one of those rare occasions where you actually put something together?" He didn't mean to make light of the situation, but some habits were proving harder to kill than others. "Choice A is a preference."

((No prob, KJ! )) Suddenly looking sheepish, Buzz opened his mouth to speak, but Commander Nebula beat him to it as he strode up to the two partners. “We don’t know what exactly this Hellboy character’s gonna do,” the Commander pointed out, “so that makes it a little hard to plan. We’ve got ten Rangers here, though, not including you and Erin. That should be sufficient.” Buzz spoke up then. “I know that Mira would rather that you stay out of the battle entirely, but I prefer you staying put. If you two slip out while we’re all engaged – well, something could happen to you two. We can’t rule out the possibility of there being Zurg’s battle machines or even other criminals like Torque out there just waiting for you to leave, unguarded.” “So it probably would be best for you to stay put,” the Commander nodded. “Safety in numbers,” Buzz finished. “Nervous?” Erin echoed, taking the bouquet from Petra and giving an edgy laugh. “Mira, what kind of bride would I be if I wasn’t just a little bit nervous?” “Chillax, honey – you’re dynamite,” Petra grinned. “Riiight. Oh, uh, Petra? Could you put this up on the front pew where I’ll be?” Erin handed her the bag that held the uniform. “Sure thing,” Petra nodded. “I’ll tell them to get started.” She turned to leave, stopped, and stepped back in to give Erin a hug. “Mmm! I love you, girlfriend.” “Love you, too, hon,” Erin smiled, hugging her back. Petra nodded and stepped back. “Okay, now I’ll have them start.” She threw Erin a grin and left, saying, “XR? Get the music going!” “You got it!” Pockebell’s Canon D suddenly came to life, via a good Surround Sound system XR had set up earlier.

Warp nodded. "That's the way I like it, sir." he really didn't think it would be good to say more than that.
"Well I'm glad we're all on the same page. You would've probably had to do a really good job of convincing Erin and I to just leave once the fireworks started." He paused. "We are Rangers after all."

"Alright, see you out there." Mira said, rubbing Erin's arms. "Ready to get married?"

((Longish post again. Just… trying to get things moving, y’know? Hey, maybe we can actually get to the crash before Christmas! Wouldn’t that be great? =D ))
Just two years ago, that would’ve been a cue for Buzz to say or do something corny. Now, though, he just nodded, smirking. “Yeah, I figured that.”
Then Petra called for the music, and XR started it up. “Buzz, come on! You have to get over there for Erin!” Petra told him, jerking her head toward the dressing area. “Warp, get on up there. Take your places, everybody!” She ran up to the front left pew and set Erin’s plastic bag on the seat.
“Okay, okay, Petra – relax!” Buzz told her, shaking his head and heading for the dressing partition. But not without giving Warp one last clap on the shoulder. He couldn’t say anything… but he was pretty sure he didn’t have to.
“No,” Erin quipped, then wrapped Mira up in a hug one last time. “Thanks, Mira – for everything.”
Buzz poked his head in just then. “Erin, it’s time,” he said quietly.
“Okay,” she nodded, and let go of Mira, smiling softly at her.
Then Erin turned to Buzz fully, and his breath caught. Where was the kid who used to drive him crazy with her annoying habits, the girl whose bullheadedness so perfectly matched his own, the rookie who nearly worked herself to death to graduate from the Academy in one year? Standing in their place was a completely gorgeous young woman who radiated both tenseness and joy. He found that he had to blink back the sudden moisture in his eyes.
“Buzz…” Erin stepped forward and slowly wrapped her arms around him, pressing her head against his armored chest. “I love you, Buzz Lightyear,” she whispered.
“I love you, too… Erin Frame.” That was the last time he’d ever call her that… Oh gee, he was going to choke – he just knew it. He gently held her back at arm’s length and said, “We’d better get going.”
Erin nodded mutely, and linked her arm into his. Buzz nodded – almost to himself – swallowed hard, and stepped out of the partition with his sister. She gave his hand a discreet squeeze, and took a deep breath as they waited for XR as the ring-bearer and Mira as the maid of honor to walk down the aisle.

Mira was even more nervous than the Bride had to be. Her palms were sweaty and her legs felt like jelly, making her think they were going to give out from under her. But she made it down the aisle as smoothly as if she were the bride herself. She took her place, standing there with a smile upon her face.
She just hoped nothing went wrong.

“Okay, now we can go,” Erin whispered.
Buzz’s heart thumped insistently against his ribcage as he led Erin down the aisle. Left-together, right-together, left-together, right-together…
This was the moment he’d been dreading for the past few weeks. Well, to be honest… for the past twenty months.
But looking between his sister – his sweet, strong, spirited, beautiful Erin – and his partner – infuriating, incorrigible Warp… he was content.
He would just have to learn how to share.
Erin, on the other hand, was managing to keep her mind pretty well blank – she knew that if she didn’t, she’d tremble or laugh or cry or do something equally horrible.
But the pair made it to the altar, and the pastor, smiling, began. “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the sight of God and this congregation to join this man and this woman in holy matrimony…”
Buzz closed his eyes and waited for his cue.
“…Who represents this woman?”
“I do,” Buzz replied, and the thickness in his own voice surprised him. Giving his sister’s hand one last squeeze, he moved away and to the side as the best man.
“Warp Darkmatter and Erin Elisheba Frame…”
Erin knew she’d never be able to remember what the pastor was saying, and fleetingly hoped that XR was recording. She glanced up at the man beside her, though, and a sense of surrealism hit her. This was real. They were really here, and they were getting married.
She smiled up at Warp, her face glowing and her eyes reflecting the Christmas tree lights strung all around.

"Imma goin'" Warp bounced up to the front of the church and took his place on the pastor's left, hoping that Erin didn't mind the absense of his tux.
Warp turned around as Buzz and Erin started down the aisle and took another mental shapshot. This was the beginning of a moment that he'd been waiting for for almost two years.
Wow, it's actually happening. He was doing his best to keep his excitment and nervousness under control, but he doubted it was working.
He looked hard into Buzz's eyes as he passed him, wondering if he looked as nervous as his partner did, before turning to stand next to Erin.
Warp noticed Erin looking up at him, but he hadn't noticed the smile yet, and when he looked down and did see the look on her face, he couldn't help but smile back. There was no way in the world that he was going to remember the first half of what he paster said, but he'd remember the second half for sure.
((well that was a while in coming from me wasn't it. sorry if it's....corny.))

((A. That’s okay, KJ, and B? That was your best sentimental!Warp moment ever! Seriously! I think you handled that very well. *thumbs-up*))
Buzz managed to give Warp a slight thumbs-up.
For a minute, his eyes wandered around the sanctuary. He couldn’t look at his sister – he knew that if he did, he’d start crying for sure. Finally, his gaze rested on Mira, just a few feet away. Sweet, strong, spirited, beautiful Mira. Craters, if he wasn’t sure before, he was sure now. He knew that he could gladly spend the rest of his life with her, and at that moment, he almost felt full to bursting with that knowledge. With his love.
Odd, maybe, that he would be having these thoughts during his sister’s wedding, but he’d given up a long time ago trying to figure how exactly his own mind worked. He shook his head slightly and found that he could now focus on Warp and Erin. Wow.
Okay, Erin’s heart was going to pound its way straight out of her chest – she just knew it. She took a shaky breath and tried to concentrate on what the pastor was saying, about partnership and devotion…
Buzz grew slowly aware of a sniffling sound coming from the pews. Without turning, his eyes searched for the source of the sound. Oh no, Booster. That’s right – he always cried at weddings, didn’t he? Buzz squeezed his eyes shut. Please don’t cry, please don’t cry, PLEASE DON’T CRY…
Unfortunately, Buzz was not a telepath.
Booster began to bawl. Fop Doppler, who sat beside the Jo-Adian, was also tearing up, and he handed Booster a tissue.
Erin had to bite back a half-hysterical giggle. There was no way she was going to be one of those brides who lost it because she was so nervous!
The pastor couldn’t help smiling, but managed to carry on. “…Warp and Erin, you have already committed to each other, knowing full well that the consequences will not always be pleasant, given your rather unique situation. This speaks volumes for the strength of your love of each other and of your trust in God…”
After a few minutes, it was time for the vows. The pastor nodded to Warp to start.
((I was thinking that maybe Warp and Erin wrote their own vows, like some couples do?))

Mira let her eyes wonder as well, lightly resting on Buzz, who incidentally had his eyes on her as well. She briefly smile at him before she felt a shiver make way down her spine. Glancing towards the back exit, Mira eyed the small door that were used for emergency's only.
"No," She mouthed, no voice audible for anyone to hear. Not even Buzz Lightyear himself, who stood across from her, too far to get the message that something was soon going to go wrong.
(Am I going to fast? I can always edit the post for something more slower if it's not time for any action yet. Just PM or something Sky or Warp.)

((Thanks! )) Warp smiled. That was all he'd needed. Warp heard Booster burst wide open behind him, but didn't dare look. All he could do was cough and keep a semi-straight face to cover up his amusement as well as possible. Thank goodness I'm not the only one trying to find a good way to hide my amusement....Oh In all his worrying about not messing anything up, Warp had forgotten that he was supposed to go first when it came time for the vows, but he took it in stride only pausing a second or two before beginning. "Some people fear the mountains in the future of their lives, given a choice they opt not to dance, as the years go by they loose that simple sense of wonder that comes along with every breath they take. They give up when it gets to hard for them to carry on along even though they're afraid of failure. They live for yesterday and forget to put their faith something and to give it a fighting chance." Warp paused to clear his throat before he looked right into Erin's eyes. "Not you. Never you. You're heart was always too full of a hope for the future, you're hands too full of a love for whoever happened to be standing next to you or to cross your path. You're too full of life. A hope, a love, a life given to you by God. And I, I have been also been given something from God. It's the chance to love you and protect you, no matter the circumstances. I already messed it up once. I will not do it again. So help me God." He was beaming again. (( @ all: seriously, tell me if it's really...bad. @ Cherry: I'mma with it.))
