Hello there, guys. Remember my topic about my fanfic ideas? Well, I mentioned this fanfic on the list with a little explanation about it.
Anyway, I decided to write a pilot chapter of the story just to see how it goes. It's not very detailed into the story and some elements of it since this isn't an official chapter and all, but it does give an idea of how the overall story will be like.
As always, opinion is greatly appreciated.
Anyway, without further ado, here it is:
It all started in the deep vastness of space.
Somewhere between Sector 8 and Sector 10 a couple of glowing lights pierce through the vastness of space, traveling at breakneck speed across the galaxy. In a silent sonic boom the two lights collide against each other, obliterating any star and debris in their way.
One of these lights is bright green of justice, the other a dark purple of evil. They charge and collide against each other once again, not caring for the planets and satellites they’re heading for.
The green light stops and forms into a bright orb before becoming into an entity. A green eagle-like entity with white armor on its chest and wrists, its face wearing what seems like a white helmet.
The purple light stops as well, it too becoming into an entity, one resembling a purple creature with black armor on its chest and wrists while wearing a black helmet which covers its entire face.
The two entities eye at each other before becoming nothing but light, charging at each other again in another battle. They collide and fly circles around each other, one entity trying to overpower the other. They collide once again near a star, its aftershock overtaking the star and exploding it in a supernova.
But they didn’t care; all they were focused on was the battle at hand. They furiously clash and fly, passing dangerously close over planets and other stars. These entities defy nature, flying at the speed of light crossing vast space in mere seconds, destroying stars and debris like if they were nothing.
As they dueled they traveled through the galaxy, headed toward the prime planet where everything important is withheld. The planet known as the center planet of the galaxy: Capital Planet.
It is in this planet where most of the important and major businesses take place. Whether trading items, selling materials, having a business flourish, Capital Planet is where you need to go; a place where you can find anything and anybody. Its technology is unsurpassed, ranging advanced vehicles such as hover cars to the classics such as two-wheeled bicycles.
It is here where the Galaxy Police Headquarters is located. The Galaxy Police is a special force focused on the protection and defense of Capital Planet, its citizens, and every planet affiliated with Capital Planet. They’re dedicated and a force to be reckon with. To date, they have never failed to apprehend a criminal.
But our destination takes us to a semi-rural area of Capital Planet to a two-story home; the home of a Buzz Stellar, an 18 year old boy with big dreams. The boy attends Capital Planet High with dreams of joining the Galaxy Police Force when he grows up, he’s an eager boy with a rather calm attitude towards everything and one to think straight even in dire situations. Stellar always had a motto: Good always triumphs over evil.
It’s early in the morning, and Stellar has school today. The front door opens as Buzz walks outside, stopping by the foot of the door as his mother calls out to him.
“Have a nice day at school, Buzz!”
“I will, mom!”
“Remember to bring home a bag of bunzel from the Jo-Adian shop down the street after school.”
“OK!” The boy closes the door behind him and runs down the street to his school. He dons a pair of long black jeans with an orange short-sleeved shirt. His hair is black, his hair in a flat, neatly combed style.
His high school isn’t that far from his home, he gets there in 10 minutes by sprinting. His high school is a simple two-story school; the library to its left and the lunchroom to its right.
Buzz runs his way to school down the sidewalk, eagered for the last day of school before the weekends. He was going to turn left to the school before a bigger kid cuts him off, shoving him aside and knocking him down to the ground. “Move it!”
“Agh!” Buzz falls back onto his behind, a bit dazed from the shove. He rubs his head and opens his e yes, looking up at the one who shoved him. “Crocket…”
The boy who shoved him just laughs. He stands taller than Buzz by just a bit, his skin a bit tanner than Buzz’s and his hair a dark blue. He wears a pair of long white jeans with a black shirt and a red and white jacket. “Hahah, you’re always down on the ground, Stellar!”
Buzz glares at him as he gets up. “That’s because you’re always shoving me down…”
Crocket laughs again. This 19 year old man is Rocket Crocket, an acquaintance of Stellar’s. They both kind of have a rivalry going on between them, either friendly or competitive. They can treat each other like dirt sometimes but they can be good friends from time to time. Crocket smirks and holds his hand down at Buzz to help him up. “Well maybe if you put some backbone into your attitude you wouldn’t be down there as often.”
Buzz arches an eyebrow at him as he grabs Crocket’s arm and is helped up. “I would but there’s no reason to do that. Don’t want to stoop down to the bullies’ level.”
Crocket just shakes his head with a shrug. “Keep that attitude and you’ll be always down on the dirt.”
Buzz chuckles as he grins. “Evil never wins, I always say.”
Crocket couldn’t help but to roll his eyes from that while holding his hand up to Buzz. “Ah grow up from that, Buzz! It’s not always going to be all good and justice; there will be times when even the bad guys have it their way.” The sound of the school bell rings, interrupting the conversation between the two of them. “Anyway, school is about to start. So let’s go.” With that, Crocket makes his way to school.
Buzz just lags behind with a sigh. Crocket really knows how to put him down in times like these, especially when he tries to debunk his beliefs. That’s why he wants to join the Galaxy Police Force when he’s done with high school, to protect the planet and prove to Crocket that evil indeed never wins.
Buzz shakes it off and runs to his school. That’s just the way Crocket is.
But unknown to every single soul in Capital Planet, two beings are battling it out deep in space. Their blows sending shockwaves to everything close by and moving stars from their stationary locations.
“It’s useless to keep on fighting!” The purple entity speaks out, its voice dark and sinister. “Just surrender and give up the Galactic Alliance code!”
The green entity faces its enemy. “You must be joking.” The eagle-like entity responds, its voice deep and masculine. “The Galactic Alliance code is not for evil hands. I simply cannot allow you to get your grasps on this valuable item.”
The purple entity laughs. “Hah! Then I guess you won’t mind if I pry it off from your cold, lifeless hands!”
The green entity grips its fist as it glows a bright blue. “Bring it on, you waste of space!”
The purple entity increases its strength as it surrounds itself in a dark purple aura, charging up its power for an attack. The green entity does the same, it surrounded by a blue aura. In a blink of an eye the both of them charge at each other, their powers as high as they can get it up at.
“The code is mine!!”
“In your dreams!”
The two fighters collide against each other, causing a supernova and burning up everything in its path within light-years of its radius. Within minutes the supernova’s deadly burning flares die out, leaving behind a beautiful remnant that outshines everything around it. To planets like Jo-ad and Tangea, the remnant is as big as the sun, visible to the naked eye even in daylight.
As for the two entities responsible for the supernova, the green entity is flown back and through the galaxy, flying at breakneck speed at the speed of light. The entity can’t change nor spot his forced flight, and even if it could he has been knocked out cold from the impact, but alive.
Hours pass as the entity unconsciously flies through space, passing by planets and satellites at breakneck speeds. Unknowingly he is getting closer and closer to the major planet of the galaxy: Capital Planet.
Down on the planet Buzz Stellar is heading home after a busy day at school, happy that it’s finally the weekends. Carrying in his left hand is a bag full of bunzels that his mother asked for, fresh from the Jo-Adian farms just like she likes them.
“Hm? Agh…” He notices his home with their window curtains down. His mother must’ve gone out for something. He digs his pocket for his house keys and unlocks the door, opening the door and walking inside. He walks to the kitchen and sets the bag of bunzels on the counter, these things cost him 10 uni-bucks and he doesn’t intend of being careless with them and just leaving them on the floor. He looks to the sliding door at the back of the house that leads to the backyard, a vast plateau that resides in the backyards of the whole street. Buzz usually gets out there at night to watch the stars.
“Hm?” Buzz walks to the sliding door, opens it and steps outside, noticing some kind of green streak flying across the sky. A meteor? Nah, couldn’t be, meteors don’t leave that kind of steak behind them.
“Ah, that light!” Buzz is startled to see the streak is going down, and toward his direction! Whatever the thing is it flies down to the plateau in front of him and crashes into the ground in a huge boom, the ground shaking and tripping Stellar down to the ground. The boy slowly gets up and looks at the huge smoke in front of him, wondering what the heck that was. He takes off his backpack and sets it down before heading out to investigate it. If it is a meteorite he’ll actually see a genuine item from space!
To his dismay the crater was huge, but the thing in the middle wasn’t anything to be impressed about. He stands at the edge of the crater, able to see the thing that crashed. It looks like a small rock, or is it a star?
“What is that…?” The curiosity was too much for Stellar to bear. He slides down the crater as carefully as he can, trying not to slide down too rough to the rock below. As he gets closer to it he notices the rock was more star-shaped, a blue colored star-shaped item. Buzz reaches out and grabs it, the item barely fitting in his hand. It was rather heavy, and shaped in a way that makes you wonder how it survived its fall through the atmosphere.
Suddenly the star-shaped rock began to blow, startling Buzz into dropping it and backing away from it. “Wha-What the?” The rock started glowing brighter and brighter until it turned into a blue orb and shoot out at Stellar, causing the boy to scream in horror as it latched onto his right arm and wrapping around his wrist. He tries to shake it off, but whatever the thing is it’s not letting go.
Buzz tries to yank it off but the thing is too tight around his wrist. He nearly gives up until its glow dies down, revealing some kind of green and white device with an insignia on top of it, an orb with wings. “Wha…What the…?”
As time passed Buzz tried to make heads or tails of this. Two hours have gone by since he got back to his home and up to his room trying to tinker with the item. So far he doesn’t know what it does or for what it is, all he found out about it was that he can open its flip top to reveal some bars signifying some things, two buttons and a screen on the top of the flip top. But the screen was off, the bars represented nothing and the two buttons don’t work.
Buzz looks out his window as the Galaxy Police Force is on the scene of the crater investigating, but their only clue is on Buzz’s arm…
Buzz opens the flip top of the thing and tries again to figure out the controls. He tries in vain until suddenly the thing’s screen turns on. It startles Buzz and grabs his attention all at the same time. Maybe he’ll finally come up with something here…
“What are you doing?”
“Aaah!” Buzz jumps, startled from hearing a voice. “Who’s there?!” He looks around, but finds no one.
“Interesting, so the code reacted to your bio signature.”
“Aagh!” Buzz jumps again and looks around frantically. But he just can’t see the one who’s talking.
“Over here, in the Star Command.”
“Huh?”
“The device on your arm. Humans…”
Buzz blinks and looks into the screen, to his amazement seeing an eagle-like being on the screen; a green eagle entity with a white mustache and white armor on its chest, wrists and helmet. Buzz is amazed, “Are you…Talking?”
The being nods. “Of course I am.” Suddenly the device glows and the being comes out from the device and into Buzz’s room, shocking the boy. “And I can do much more than talk.” He notices the kid’s terrified expression and he just turns his back to him. “Calm down, I’m not going to hurt you.”
The boy calms down as he looks at the eagle-like being, completely amazed. “Wha…What are you?”
The being looks over his shoulders at the boy. “I guess I have to tell you since the code merged with you so well…My name’s Nebula-C, a supreme being from the deepest unknown galaxy past Sector 10.”
“Sector 10?” Buzz echoes, recognizing the name. “That’s pretty out there.”
“Yes, extremely distant from this planet. As I witnessed you toying with the device in your arm you do not seem to know much about devices. What you have on your arm is called a Star Command, StarCom for short. It allows you to interact with other beings such as myself and keep in touch with others wielding a Star Command with the same frequency.”
Buzz looks down at the device on his arm as he listens to Nebula-C’s explanation. A Star Command? Allows him to contact others with the same device? What else can this thing do?
“I apologize if you were startled when it latched onto you, but the Star Command is coded with the Galactic Alliance code.”
“Galactic Alliance code?”
“That’s right. It’s a special top-secret code that reacts to those who have the will-power to wield it. It is a special code that grants unique powers to its user.”
Suddenly the ground shakes violently, knocking down things hanging from Buzz’s room and knocking stuff off of tables. Nebula-C looks at one direction, sensing something. “However, there are things out there bent on taking this awesome power…”
Nebula-C suddenly turns into a blue orb and flies through Buzz’s wall, going outside. The boy exits from his home and gasps upon seeing smoke emitting from the city of Capital Planet, explosions can be heard and other menacing sounds. Buzz hears something to his left and turns, gasping as a group of robots walk down the street and toward his direction. The robots seem to pay special attention to Buzz and raise their cannons, aiming at him. Seeing this Buzz turns around and runs from the robots but almost instantly trips, falling to the ground for what seems like the fourth time today.
As the robots get ready to fire a blue orb flies to Buzz’s side and zips through the robots, destroying them as they blow up. This orb is nothing more than Nebula-C, who just after destroying the robots he transforms to his normal eagle-like state and turns to Buzz. “So it has begun, Zurg-E survived that blow after all.”
Buzz, who just turned over and sat up, looked at Nebula-C upon hearing the name. “Zurg-E?”
“My main enemy who’s bent on getting his hands on the Galactic Alliance code and use it for the destruction of the galaxy. The code which now resides in your StarCom.”
“My StarCom?” Buzz looks at the StarCom on his right arm. To think he holds the entire code in one device at his possession; an evil being who wants to get it and apparently will do anything to get it.
“The code contains data from every living being in the galaxy, the reason why it’s so powerful and dangerous in the wrong hands.”
“That’s why it’s called Galactic Alliance?”
“In a way, yes. You have in your possession the entire code. If Zurg-E catches you, it’s all over. However, there is a way to keep the code safe.”
Up in the planet Jo-Ad, a friendly and big-hearted Jo-Adian is happily working in the vast farms of the planet which his family. This Jo-Adian is called Booster Munchapper.
“How can we do that?” Buzz asks Nebula-C.
Booster turns around upon being called and stops on what he’s doing, walking to his mother who just brought to him and his father some lemonade to quench their thirst.
“We can divide the code to others wielding the StarCom. However…”
“However?”
In a distant planet called Tangea, a Tangean princess stands in her balcony, looking out to the fields in front of her longfuly, desiring for adventure.
Nebula-C continues. “The Galactic Alliance code must merge with their bio signature without question. In other word, a compatible host such as yourself.”
The Tangean princess, Mira Nova, sighs as she’s being called for her usual duties as princess. She turns around and enters her palace, but not before turning around one more time to look at the vast world beyond her captive palace.
“Of course, finding these compatible hosts might not be such a bad idea. We will need all the help we can get if we’re to defeat Zurg-E once and for all.”
Buzz blinks, astounded. “Wha-What? Defeat Zurg-E?”
“Of course. You’re now a part of the Lightyear Force. Our job is to protect the galaxy and to put a stop to Zurg-E. As his power increases he’ll be capable of doing tremendous and diabolical things, you cannot do it alone.”
“Do it alone?” Buzz slowly gets up on his feet, looking at Nebula-C. “I can’t go up against a space being! I’m 18 and a human! Those robots alone could’ve killed me easily!”
Nebula-C looks as if he’s about to laugh. “Ah but of course, how foolish of me to forget. You won’t be fighting as Buzz Stellar, but as Buzz Lightyear.”
Buzz blinks, puzzled. “Buzz Lightyear?”
“That’s right!” Suddenly Nebula-C transforms into a green flare and shoots up into the sky before shooting down on Buzz. The kid screams as the light shoots down on top of him and in a blinding flash a transformation takes place. Buzz is surrounded by Nebula-C’s green energy and powered by it. Soon his body dons white armor with green on his boots, gloves, wrists and chest. He opens his eyes and jumps with a spin to break out of the flares and lands on his feet on the ground, donning the armor suit.
Surprised and astounded Buzz looks at himself in the new suit of armor, feeling strangely powered and light. “I, what…?” He continues in looking at himself from head to toe of the newly acquired body armor. “I have…My body has…”
“You are now fused with my power and are now a Lightyear.” Nebula-C speaks, sounding as if he’s talking to Buzz in his head. “This is the Lightyear form after the Light-Year Switch. A form where you inherit most of my abilities.”
Buzz gasps in astonishment. “Awesome…I feel as light as a feather yet as a powerful as a bear!”
“It is in this form that you and I will battle against Zurg-E’s forces. Remember, in order to change into this form all you need to do is to say your name and command “To infinity and beyond” to trigger the Light-Year Switch. While in this form, my powers are now yours.”
Buzz looks at the smoke coming from the central city. So he’s now chosen to fight against Zurg-E and protect the galaxy from this entity. In a way Buzz’s dream is realized, but instead of joining the Galaxy Police he has joined the Lightyear Force, his force. In the Lightyear Form Buzz now feels like he can take on anything. But despite his urge to fight against the forces of evil, he has the Galactic Alliance code to protect, and he can start by finding compatible beings to join the Lightyear Force and separate the code for safety.
“Let’s go, Buzz Lightyear!” Nebula-C cries.
“If you say so…” Buzz Lightyear nods and, as if he knows all of his techniques and powers all by heart, he slams his fist against his chest over a button and opens his suit’s wings. “Lightyear Force is on the go!” With a strong hop he takes off flying into the sky, flying off toward the smokes of the city. “To infinity and beyond!”
“…Say it only when you have to change.”
“Erm, right.”
