In TAB we see XR getting packed full of miscellaneous junk by the LGMs, right? And throughout the series he pulls various things out of his inner compartments, suggesting that he still has loooots of stuff in there.
So... when he blows up, how come we don't see gadgets and rubber ducks and balloon animals and life rafts and ladders and crap everywhere?
One explanation would be that XR is built like a safe in the middle, with weaker arm, leg and 'neck' joints so his limbs and head come off, but his body remains relatively intact. That would explain his round shape.
Another explanation is.... ...lazy animators...

I think that is about it. But then again he has had that little door open and it seems clean, maybe he takes out stuff he doesn't need to carry around weapons. Like I used to carry a camera around all the time, but since I visit the same places too often I don't need to anymore. It could also be that he puts stuff in there, it gets blown up (along with him, haha) and he doesn't bother replacing the duck in a beach ball. So why loose a second duck in a beach ball? D: we may be giving more thought to this that the people who made the cartoon, but it's part of the fun, like how Booster has no navel, but his dad does, YAY.

Another explanation is.... ...lazy animators... True... but imagine having to draw all that stuff all the time. A solution to that could have been not blowing him up all the time...

wait, when he explodes, and every limb goes flying across the universe, and there are parts where his head get detached from his 'neck' Why doesn't the head float away? when he's together, it's floating there, but what if you lift the helmet or it explodes, wouldn't it float away? unless there is a gravitational pull that keeps his head floating when in the glass dome.

I think his head only floats when it's inside the dome.

Isn't there a moment in Sunquake when his head is floating without the helmet? When he and Booster are guarding the science bay and they're throwing cards into it. *snicker*

Well, I meant the base.... I think it only floats when it's on that base. In Head Case his head is fully detached from his body for nearly half the episode and it's not floating.
