... at the end... Gusteau's was closed then they opened it again under the name ratatouille (or at least I saw a sign that said that at the end of the movie). The name of the place was actually Gusteau's. :3 And, it is a movie after all... I mean, digital rats can't carry diseases. If they didn't carry diseases (within the movie's own reality) they wouldn't have closed Gusteau's But Please, PLEEEEEASE let us not go down that road. Arguments about "it's a movie", "ugh, NO-AH"... . Let's discuss next who is more magic ORKO OR HARRY POTTER. I SAY HARRY POTTER CUZ HE IS LIKE A TOTAL HUNK. BUT ORKO FLOTS OL THE TAIM!. you know what I mean?.

... at the end... Gusteau's was closed then they opened it again under the name ratatouille (or at least I saw a sign that said that at the end of the movie). I think that was a different place - if I remember correctly. I guess all I'm trying to say is please don't judge the quality of the film based on the fact that it has rats in it, who just happen to be touching food. There is so much more to the movie than that. And I'll admit, even I thought it had its weaknesses - certain plot elements seemed a bit too convenient for me, a bit disappointing, but something I'm willing to overlook for the quality of the story and the animation. But I just don't consider rats touching food to be one of those weaknesses. After all, all animated movies require some amount of imagination. They're not firmly grounded in reality, which makes them fun. :3 And I'll get off my soap box now. ...?

Oh, It's not just that it had rats. I didn't like the characters or situations, one of the main characters was a manipulative human puppet!... I don't think I liked anything about it. I'll never get those two hours back.
About the orko thing, arguing over the fact that this is a movie and if there are germs or not would not be much different to arguing about why Batman has no pupils, or if superman has or not (and for how long) powers underground, who is more magical, who is stronger, and you know the drill. The typical irrational internet argument, I HAVE seen illogical things be discussed over in the internet.

Oh, It's not just that it had rats. I didn't like the characters or situations Okay then; that's your opinion - I can respect that. I'm probably going to start something else with this, but I just feel I have to say there's a fine line between an irrational argument and a legitimate analysis of something. I don't see anything wrong with looking deeply into a cartoon or a movie. I'm sure that's why most of us are here in the first place, to have (hopefully) deep discussions about the series. And I don't see anything wrong with arguing "who's stronger." Who would win in a duel between... say, NOS and Voldemort. ;3

The problem starts when it stops being legitimate analysis, and becomes argument.
I seriously don't think superman can beat goku, yet I've seen forums with more than THIRTHY PAGES of people going on about it, back and forth. And not nicely.
And no offense but when it comes to you I feel like I have watch every single thing I say about pixar. The first time you went ballistic on me because I dared to say something negative, "the characters we love so much" and pixar in the same sentence. Initially, you didn't even get what I said right.
I have had these kind of analysis with Netto about Booster's strength, but things are different with him, even if we end up in disagreement I feel like there is more understanding.

Oh, Je deteste ratatouille nicoise!
I just find a pure vegetable dish nasty...especially since tomatoes are used heavily in it. Je n'aime pas les tomates!

OGM eez!, I don't like tomatoes either!. I can only have them if they are cut in small pieces with mayo, or any other sauce.
But I looove veggies, most of them at least. I could eat vegetarian food for two almost months in a row... again.

The first time you went ballistic on me because I dared to say something negative, "the characters we love so much" and pixar in the same sentence. Initially, you didn't even get what I said right. I went ballistic? Oh... I thought I was pretty calm about it; I'm sorry that you took it that way... And I am sorry that I misunderstood you. I do that sometimes. Pretty often on the web, actually. And that is something that happens over the Internet. Although the point there is that without Pixar, we wouldn't even have these characters; they were the ones who created Buzz, and without him, there'd be no show. (I didn't even say that right the first time.) Listen; I don't want you to feel that you have to watch what you say around me. I realize I'm really biased towards Pixar ( really really biased, almost to the point of being irrational) but it's something I do feel strongly about, and I'm going to defend it. You have the right to have your own opinions and defend them just as strongly. I'm truly sorry if I came across too testy. That wasn't my intent at all; please, believe me. And I'm sorry it's come to this; I really wasn't trying to start anything, I was just trying to defend a movie I really like. btw... I don't like tomatoes either. :3

Tomatoes = yicky. I'm a bit biased about Pixar myself. None of their movies have been my absolute favorites, but I respect them for who they are: a human, CGI-producing company. About Ratatouille, however... It fell a bit flat for me, after getting so incredibly hyped up about it. Even my favorite character, Remy, came off as a little too smug for me, especially when commenting on Linguini after first seeing him. Some people (such as the movie critic for my local newspaper) even described him as heartless, though I don't think that it went that far. Linguini kind of annoyed me after becoming a chef (before he was all right; I thought his awkward fumble for the letter in his pocket, perhaps thinking that it would suddenly appear magically if he turned around in circles, was squee-inspiring), and his eventual big-headedness without anything to back it up kind of disgusted me. The plot was a tad disappointing, and some lines were not well chosen (such as Remy's use of the word "rat" as a negative comment without even a moment's hesitation), but I hate to be a Mr. Johnny Raincloud. What I did like were the score and animation, the former especially. The music fit very well with the current scene and had inventive, if not spoiler-esque at times, titles. My favorite track, Wall Rat, also accompanied by a beautiful animation sequence, made me want to take up the flute right then and there. Some characters also sparked my interest, such as the easy-going Emile and Horst, who had my favorite set of lines in the whole film. Overall, a balanced animation flick. The DVD, as I expected, though still wished fervently against, had no commentary, which made me sad. *exhales deeply* Phew! Your Friend the Rat, however, is a different story. If you want another ridiculously long post, you should ask me about it.

Thanks for all that bg, I didn't expect you to admit you were biased... but let's not kid ourselves, we all knew XD. I'm sorry too if I've been hostile.
I don't hate pixar, or have ever hated it. Like you, I have the secret desire to someday work with them, although with you is no secret, and now for me it isn't either. I had some hope given that I took a 3d course 4 years ago, and I'm getting really serious into sculpture, and I'm starting to feel like a real illustrator. It probably won't happen with me anyways, I just got the idea when I went to their site and I saw mike looking for interns, and next year I will need to enter an internship if I want to graduate.
Some people don't like other's interpretations of their characters, that's why I said I didn't think they cared about the cartoon series. If you look at Peter Laird, co-creator of the ninja turtles, you'll see how disgusted he seems to be by the '80s cartoon, second and third movie, and ANYTHING that was not carbon copied/"based" on the volume 1 comics, he fails to realize that most people don't like jim lawson's current style, but since they are friends, and he is rich... woo pee doo.
Ninja turtles don't eat pizza anymore, no no no, they eat OMELETTES!
OMELETTE POWER DUDES.
Pixar seems pretty attached to their characters, with all of the cameos in movies and references (I don't need to tell you, but for everybody else the tires on mcqueen, mike at the end of nemo, an incredibles comic on nemo again). That's only because they love them, which is great, I just hope they give the rookies a chance, and they see the potential in them and the cartoon series' continuity.
We have taken over this topic, I figure it isn't that big a deal since it's the spam forum, but it still shouldn't be <.<
SO ratatouille!, they drank wine, WOO, reality check!, adults do drink, our parents grew with cartoon characters that drank liquor and smoked and nothing happened to them, at least not due to that (I'm thinking cartoons among the lines or tom and jerry, dumbo gets drunk, eh, I'm blank beyond that but there are more)

Thanks for all that bg, I didn't expect you to admit you were biased... but let's not kid ourselves, we all knew XD. I'm sorry too if I've been hostile. Well, I can admit it... X3 And you have to understand; I don't really have a strong opinion where many things are concerned, but I am truly, deeply passionate about Pixar and their films. They've all meant a great deal to me - and like you've noticed, it's my life's dream to work there. :3 Apology accepted; thank you. And you want to work there too? Well then, I wish you luck! Soooo.... yeah, alcohol in cartoons! XD That's another thing I admire about Pixar; they don't shy away from mature subjects. X3 But they always manage to be so classy. Oh wow, I can't believe I didn't bring this up before! XD I love the soundtrack, it's so beautiful. And Wall Rat made my day a thousand times over! Flutes just don't get to be in the spotlight like that, and as such, they are sooo underappreciated! It was so amazing to hear a flute get such a long, technically-difficult solo! That remains one of my favorite tracks for that very reason. I swear I will learn that part someday. X3

Sooo! You both want to go up my neck of the woods, do you? Hope to see you here someday! Wish you luck on making it to the Big P!
That is true! I noticed liquor, guns--granny, and those two quarrelsome lovers--, illegitimate children XD, and what else....Le shrug! It was pretty good on reality, I'll have to cough up.
The Animation is still what made me drool...so smooth, and textured! Shading, lighting, AMAZING! Must have taken quite the staff to pull it off.
*sniff*You guys make me so happy! Fellow tomato-haters! ;~;

Sooo! You both want to go up my neck of the woods, do you? Yes!, I don't know what that means, but yes. (here you explain what it means) ANTI TOMATO HUG TAIM!two quarrelsome lovers... you means the Parrs right? >D. Didn't Mr. Parr slap wife in butt? (I'm actually asking). probably outside screen but you could still hear it?, MWAHAHAHAHA. I love you mr. Parr. Unless you meant the chefs at ratatouille, they French kissed, if I recall correctly (how appropriate). You're kind of right, but it is nothing you don't see everywhere in tv nowadays (including cartoons for kids), kisses are becoming less and less of a big deal D:

Did you just break the anti-tomato chain?
OH YOU DID NOT.
: p
Europe gets no lovin' :c
they always get stuff months later, maaaaaaany months later. It happens for games, and about everything else. Except for he-man, supposedly the '82 cartoon was premiered in the United Kingdom, before everywhere else, even though it was animated in United States (commonly it's done in Asia, even shows like The Simpsons).
