But do you know why?. I used to think that when it comes to voice actors people shouldn't say "hey YOU are such character, and this and that. I love you and I make it seem like I care about you more than I care about the cartoon's creator/author"
Heck, I used to dislike Rob Paulsen, because he sounds the same always, but also because I read he had a show where he made 100 voices or something. But then I saw a video of him with a fan, and I just thought that he was so nice to her!, they appreciated each other in such way.
Well eventually this became less strong, but still stood.
Until last April.
Last, April.
I freaking met the freaking voice actor of freaking Goku from Dragon Ball Z (Latin voice) in an anime convention. He is my very favorite voice for Goku, the Japanese is very stupid and on top of everything a woman (voicing an adult man, yeah that makes sense), instead he sounds as childish and in another way as manly as he need to be. Great balance, and it works, fits the character really well.
So I'm in Venezuela and the fact that he came all the way from México was a big wow, even bigger that he came to my city, which is not the capital. That felt awfully rare.
So I waited three hours or so for him to show up, and about an hour in line for his autograph (line was actually moving along fast). I had him do a little performance of the mask and Tom and Jerry kids's droopy, it made me so happy, so COOL.
But he also said that for Spanish Tiny Toons was dubbed here, I didn't believe him, sounded too good to be true, as soon as I got home I checked Wikipedia and OMG FREAKING TINY TOONS WAS DUBBED HERE OMG OMG. For a week or two I would burst out of nothing and tell my brother "TINY TOONS WAS DUBBED HERE, TINY TOONS WAS DUBBED HERE". That Tiny Toons was dubbed here meant that Taz-mania was dubbed here, that Taz.mania (which I loved and still do, have most of the episodes in tape) was dubbed here meant that... BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES WAS DUBBED HERE OMG (voice of Joker is also voice of Taz), and that means JUSTICE LEAGUE WAS DUBBED OMG OMG OMG.
Later in July I got to meet the voice of freaking Freakazoid, I took a picture with him, I look so happy, much happier than in the picture of my brother's graduation, I'm sorry brother. For a little while I felt a tiny national exclusivity pride, like I was more interested in national voice actors than internationals.... but nah, maybe I like nationals better, maybe just the same, I love it when Mexicans come here.
Ok, the point.
Today, I met the guy who was the main voice of the lgms! (they had another one, and maaaaybe two other voice actors).
I got his autograph and had him say for a video:
"Booster is my favorite ranger, he will be commander one day"
I was so happy and satisfied, afterward I actually hopped twice, hehe.
Before I knew he was the lgms (he said it in the introduction), I was gonna have him say: "Cowabunga!, I love pizza!, what's up Pete?". The guy played the voice of Don in 2003 tmnt, mwahaha.
Thing is, Peter Laird hates his precious turtles associated with pizza or cowabunga, and when they make "homages" of the old cartoon, I don't feel them as homages, more like mocking or humiliating the old cartoon, from what I used to read in blast from the past he seems to hate every bit of the old cartoon, I hope I'm wrong.
Do you really prefer to see them eating a homelette in April's apartment?, I don't.
Well I know most people won't care, but I actually met a person who worked in the Spanish voicing of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and I am very happy about it!, it only justifies the ridiculously long thread. I used to feel the way I did because I had never met a voice actor, or had had the chance to.
