Sooooo...how does everyone feel after Tuesday? Maybe I should put this in "Debates." I'm torn. I'm glad to see A black president, but as a conservative Christian, I disagree with Barack Obama on nearly every significant issue. Also: I NEVER want to see the race card played in politics again. That black man headed to the White House proves America, as a whole, is over it.

I think McCain would have been a good president, but Barack Obama will be a GREAT president.

Why do you guys say that? I thought he once said he was Christian (emphasizing on the fact that he isn't muslim or something like that). You are worrying me D:
I didn't wanna see mccain win, in my ignorant opinion he just would have been a second bush (or should I say third?).
I've heard loosely that obama wants to stop the war, I like that.

Yes, but he's also pro-abortion and... stuff. :/
Not that I was too sure about either candidate.

McCain, despite the thing he said once that the entire media threw in his face, supported GRADUAL troop withdrawal- which, IMO, is a much smarter move. And yes, Alohilani, I agree, 2008 was a lesser of 2 evils year.

I'm pro-choice, which is what he is. I say, if you really want an abortion, go for it. I would never do it, though.

I'm pro-choice, which is what he is. I say, if you really want an abortion, go for it. I would never do it, though. What eats me up on that is a) I exist solely because the right choice, adoption, works, and b) the flawed logic I see in a lot of arguments for it, and when I call them on it they say I'm being obnoxious. Invariably, the chief argument I encounter is "Well, it's not worth it, because when it was illegal it still took place!" and I of course respond with "So? That applies to anything that ever has been or will be illegal, ever. Burglary? Check. Murder? Same. Rape? Yep. So by your logic, we shouldn't have laws against those either."

Well...That's not my point at all, it's just that undeveloped fetuses don't have personalities yet, though if I were in charge (and there was nothing to checks and balances or anything) then I would pass a law that says after the first month after your missed period it would be illegal to get an abortion...
But...

I didn't mean they all were, it just seems 9/10 say that. Also, there seems to be an attitude of "Heaven forbid men have opinions", at least in my experience. I swear, on at least 4 occasions I've debated it at an online discussion forum, and some girl sweeps in trying to end it with "You have no womb, thus any opinion on this you have has no value." In short, not only do I not like it, it doesn't like me, apparently.

that's just stupid, considering also that you need both men a women for reproduction.
Even if we didn't, that's just an excuse to invalidate your opinion because she is against it.

I've heard loosely that obama wants to stop the war, I like that. And while that would be a good thing, I just... don't agree with most of his policies. Also it bothers me more than a little bit that both he and his wife have said they aren't proud of America. :/
