Warp Darkmatter was a happy man. He'd just spent a nice vacation on Mahambas 6, secluded from the rest of the Galaxy, and was reporting back to his job- Top floor of the New Galactic Order, right-hand of the Evil Emperor Zurg. He flipped the radio on.
“This is the Sub-Etha waveband, all news, all the time. Hello there to all you sentient life forms and the rest of you- the trick is to bang those rocks together, boys!”
Same casters as always. He enjoyed them, sometimes.
“As you all know, recently the Evil Emperor known as Zurg went missing, presumed dead.”
He nearly drove right into the ship in front of him.
“But, is the Big Z REALLY finally the big D-E-A-D? Survey says, no body has been found- but, the planet went up in a mushroom cloud, so who says there's a body to be found?”
Warp's jaw was agape. Zurg. Dead. And a planet destroyed. Something big had clearly gone down while he was gone. The question was, what had happened, and who could he trust?
