Booster and XR had arrived at the hospital in 42 to shuttle Buzz, Mira, and King Nova back up to Star Command… no sooner had they landed in the station, than Buzz was at the exit hatch and forgoing the ladder to leap down to the bridge and scramble to his feet. In the corridor beyond the Launch Bay, the group was nearly run into by Erin and Ricki.
“Sorry!” Ricki gasped, bending down to help a grumbling XR back up.
“Mother of Venus,” Erin breathed, backing away from her brother. “Buzz, I’m sorry…”
“Forget it,” he muttered. “Now, if you’ll excuse—”
“Commander told us,” she cut him off quietly.
He sighed. “And?”
“And word got around pretty f—”
“Oh, terrific…”
“Will you listen?! Look, there’s not a Ranger here that doesn’t want to be put on the search for Cora! And our classmates—mine and Ricki’s—they’re about ready to get out there and strangle the creeps who did this!” Erin took a deep breath and visibly pulled herself back together. “Look. Buzz. With all of us working together, these guys don’t stand a chance of a snowball on Planet Z. Okay?”

Mira sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. "Look, guys, this is swell and all but we don't even know where to look first. Even if we did get all of Star Command out there looking for these creeps doesn't mean it's going to help matter. It might make em worse."

Erin heaved a sigh and looked away. “Gee, Mira, you had to ruin my moment,” she muttered, placing her hands on her hips. She turned back to the group. “Well, c’mon—better get to the briefing room.”
((Cherry, you’re gonna have to lead me through this. Sorry, hon, but my muse is absolutely refusing to give me anything BLoSC. Just this one measly paragraph was an effort!))

((That's fine. I'm just happy you updated. ;D Sorry, but I'm gonna borrow XR for this tidbit. Hope that's ok.))
Mira muttered under her own breath, following up the rear. She had to bite her lip (which she found herself doing a lot lately) to keep any smart allelic remarks rolling off her tongue.
It seemed that in any event that caused mayhem, destruction, or Buzz getting that look in his eye made her sarcastic and rude. Wasn't her fault but it didn't add any moral to the team either.
When they entered the briefing room Mira was surprised to see it empty, the lights not even turned on yet.
"Either we got a new briefing room," She flicked on the light switch, watching it flicker before turning on fully. "Or something's up with the Commander."
XR looked up questioningly, eye brow arched. "And why would you think something's wrong with Dad, hmm?"
Mira eyed him back with more force than necessary. "Has he ever been late to a briefing, or anything work related, yet?"
XR's eyes widened momentarily, slowly backing out the door.
"You know I'm going to go look for him. Y'know, just to be on the safe side. Be right back." And then he was gone in a flash, leaving a small dust train behind him.
"Do you think we should wait here or go follow?"

((That’s fine! Tx.))
Buzz watched XR go and slowly shook his head. “I’d wait here,” he said thoughtfully. “Who knows, maybe XR can be a help for once.”
King Nova settled down in a chair and folded his arms. “Yes, well, I hope it doesn’t take too long.”
Erin glanced at the King but didn’t bother to comment—just threw herself into a chair and let out an explosive breath.

Mira gave Buzz a side glance, sitting in a seat beside her father. Her back was sore from sleeping in a chair half the night and everything else stung with pins and needles with the countless amount of strain her body has been put through lately.
If there wasn't so much going on right now she'd be recovering in her bed right now.
Sitting back she massaged her aching head, ignoring Erin's sigh.
If she'd been smart enough she could have sensed if something was really wrong with Cora. But she listened to the doctor who was not a doctor instead of listening to her own gut feeling.
Cora would be safe right now if she had.
"If we want to get her back," She said slowly, almost like she was talking to herself. "Then we just need to wait till someone contacts us,"
She looked up at all of their questioning eyes. "It makes sense. Kidnappers usually contact the family in some way for ransom money or other things. We might be getting a phone call here soon."

Buzz nodded. “Yeah, I’ve been thinking about that.” He slumped into the seat on Mira’s right. “Hope it’s a longish call, since we have absolutely no leads.” He massaged his temples wearily.

"Long or not," Mira yawned, sliding back in her seat. It was already early afternoon and she felt the strain of two days weigh on her shoulders. "I don't think they're going to be stupid enough to let us trace the call. They probably have, aka stolen, some military device to keep the bugs out."

Craters, craters, craters!! Warp kicked himself mentally as he sprinted through Star Commands hallways, making it from one side of the station to the other in record time; trying to avoid as many LGMs and Rangers as he could. Finally arriving at the briefing room, he slid to a stop, and stepped in, just a bit out of breath.
"Sorry, I'm late everyone. Commander just called me a few minutes ago." He cast a sympatheic glance at Buzz and Mira, before giving Erin a peck on the forehead and greeting the rest of the team.

“True,” Buzz conceded, “but the longer the call, the more chance there is of getting information just by listening for it. I’ve gotten quite a few clues in the past just by listening to kidnappers’ calls.”
Then Warp burst into the briefing room, and one corner of Buzz’s mouth pulled back. “Hey, partner,” he greeted tiredly.
“Honey,” Erin murmured, reaching up and planting a light kiss on his cheek.

Mira didn't want to argue anymore. She was tired and strained and really, really aggravated. Maybe it would be best for Buzz to take the call...
"Hey Buzz," She said lightly, addressing her right. "Would you be able to handle the phone call in a calm manner?"
Mira nodded at Warp, a solemn hello as she closed her eye.

Buzz raised his eyebrows, said “Moi?” and shook his head. “But,” he added, “I think I can manage to take a call without trying to strangle the phone in the process. Good enough?”

Mira rubbed her temples. "Better than what I would do." She'd probably punch the phone out, then again so would Buzz if it didn't mean his job and or sanity.
Or his daughter.
Would it really be in about half a year when she would find out she's pregnant with Cora? Less than that when she marries Buzz?
How long would it take to even find their already matured future kid?
Her hands were starting to shake from over stress and lack of a good nights sleep; maybe eating was in there too, now that she noticed her stomach was empty.
She slid her hands into her lap, sinking into her seat more, and closing her eyes. She was sooo tired....

((Okay, sorry guys, but I couldn't help it. Tell me if it's really bad and I'll just delete it. I'm sure I'm very rusty from a lack of doing anything with Warp for a long time.))
"Hey, don't sweat it, Buzz. If you totally lose it...well, that's what you have a team, better yet, friends, for." Warp commented as he stepped back toward the airlock. He knew both sides of this type of situation like the back of his hand, and there were certain kidnappers out there that didn't handle being yelled at too well.
Poking his head out into the hallway, the ex-agent-of-evil grabbed the first Ranger that came running by. Of course it was a rookie. "Hey, kid, I need you to do something for me."
"But, sir, Crocket just told me to..."
"I don't care what Rocket Crocket said right now." Warp raised his voice just enough to get his point across, knowing that just about everyone in the room behind him was staring at his back.
"Listen, I need you to go to Cosmo's." Seeing the young ranger's eyes light up, he continued, "Here's what I want you to get, and here's the money to get it. Understand?" Warp quickly wrote down what he guessed everyone would order, since coffee orders where the only thing that he really had memorized, and handed the rookie the exact amount he knew Cosmo would charge.
The young ranger stared at the note pad and money in his hand for a moment before returning his gaze to Warp, and asked, "Why do you need me to do this, sir?"
It was an honest question, and it slammed one of Warp's more sensitive buttons. "Because I said so, that's why!! Now get going before I get your sorry backside transferred!" He shouted at the young man, who was now running as fast as could to the launch bay. "And don't think I won't do it either!"
Grumbling something incoherent about young upstarts, Warp returned to his seat. "Sorry," he said with an apologetic smile. "He wouldn't stop asking questions."

((S’okay.))
King Nova and Captain Lightyear both glanced at Mira at the same time, then at each other. A sort of unspoken truce passed between them: neither one really liked the other, but Mira was more important right now. Mira, and Cora.
“Darling,” the King murmured, laying a hand on her shoulder, “perhaps you should go get some sleep. You look nearly done in.”

Erin and Ricki both raised their eyebrows at the same time. “Wasn’t that Trapper McKean?” Ricki murmured.
“Uh-huh,” Erin nodded. “Warp, what was that all about? And no, you won’t get him transferred.” She smirked slightly. “He was in my class—nobody that graduated from Class 3010 is getting out of Star Command before 3020. Got the papers to prove it.”
Buzz shook his head. “She’s right, y’know.”
