“Okay… let’s try this again…” Commander Nebula said, leaning his head against his fist. Booster and Buzz were standing behind him. Mira and XR were in the Science Bay, trying, on their own, to master each others abilities. So far it hadn’t been going to well… at all… what so ever. So far Mira had accidentally fried a team of LGM’s, XR had almost ghosted completely out of Star Command, and both had rather upset the Commander. XR walked over to a desk and tried to lean against it.
“Oh come one pops we’ve been doing this for…” He started as his hand started to ghost through the desk. “Gah!” It seemed only his arm ghosted its way through the desk since he whacked his head on the it and fell back down on the ground with an ‘oof’. XR rubbed his head. “Okay… that didn’t exactly go as well as planned…” He muttered. Mira rolled her eyes.
“I think I’ve almost got the guns out!” She said, then out popped that red tropical shirt seen on XR at times. Mira sighed as she picked up said shirt and looked at it. She looked to everyone else with an awkward smile. “Ah heh, false alarm…” She said as she stuffed it back into her chest cavity. She turned to the LGM’s. “How can you guys fit some much stuff in here?” She asked. XR had gotten up and stood beside her, still rubbing his head.
“Ya know, I’ve always wondered that too. How is that?” He asked. The brainswitcheys gave the little green guys an expecting look. The LGM’s kept on looking away and muttering things like ‘well’, ‘hard to explain’ and such like it.
“Ah… Look! It’s Buzz!” One of the LGM’s, the ‘free-thinker’ yelled. They all ‘oooohhed’ at the same time and ran over to him. Mira and XR looked at each other with raised brows.
“That actually went better then I expected.” XR said, folding his arms. Mira rolled her eyes again.
“Rangers!” The Commander nearly shouted to get their attention. They both turned to him and saluted. “Until you get back to normal… I don’t think you two should be one any missions.” He said, hesitantly. Although the two of them should have seen this coming, both their jaws dropped.
“But Commander…!”
“But dad…!”
“No buts from either of you!” Nebula said, walking in front of them with his arms folded behind his back. “I also don’t think you two should be split up either.” He said. XR smiled and threw his arms up.
“Wahoo! Does this mean we can have a slumber party?” He asked. Mira shook her head.
“XR…” She said warningly. XR just waved his hand at her.
“Ah come on! It’ll be fun! We can tell ghost stories! No vampires. Watch a scary movie! No vampires. And have a whole bunch of pillow fights! That’d be fun!” He said it excitedly, well except when he said something about the vampires; he’d bring his voice back to normal for that one. He looked down to Mira with an excited look. Mira sighed in defeat. He’d just keep badgering on about it till he got what he wanted.
“Fine. But no pillow fights.” She said.
“Ah!” The robot said disappointed. “How about just one?” He asked, Mira glared up at him but sighed again.
“Just one. But if you ruin any of my pillows…” She started but was interrupted by another ‘Wahoo!’ She shook her head. What had she just agreed to?
Zurg was sitting in his throne, muttering about how expensive his latest hired hand was, and was leaning his head against his fist. Warp walked up to him with a confused look. “Uh… My evil emperor?” He asked. Zurg was so lost in his complaining that Darkmatters voice scared him and made him fall right out of his seat.
“What is it, Warp? I’m a very busy evil emperor!” He grumbled as he stood up and dusted himself off. Warp looked rather nervous.
“Well, uh, remember when you made Nos and DG team up?” He asked. Zurg was totally clueless.
“Yes. One of my more brilliant evil ideas’ if I do say so myself. Nos the cruel and powerful energy vampire, and Dark Gemini the master thief. A pretty good team, huh?” He asked, raising a brow. Warp cleared his throat.
“Well… Not really…” Zurg raised his brows, then narrowed his eyes at him.
“What do you mean?” He asked dangerously. Warp pulled at his collar.
“Well… They don’t really get along all that well.” He said. Just then the door to the room opened and in came both the vampire and thief. Arguing, politely, but arguing none the less. Nos floated up to Zurg quickly.
“I cannot work with this woman!” He said, pointing at her as she came up beside him. She narrowed her eyes at him and put her hands on her hips.
“Uh… Why?” Zurg asked.
“Because I want him to treat me as an equal. We’re partners, not master and minion.” Dark Gemini said glaring at the vamp who just glared back. Zurg looked at them both with wide eyes. He hadn’t expected this. Nos grabbed his ‘partners’ chin, rather tightly she again noticed, and held her face in place.
“Because I am Nos-4-A2. I am superior.” He said in a menacingly calm voice.
“I’m quite sorry but is that why you’ve failed at the hands of Space Rangers in the past?” She asked. Zurg winced, ouch, that had to hurt Nos’ ego. They just continued to glare at each other. “Also, could you let go? I’d rather not have my jaw broken if I had a choice.” She said. Nos narrowed his normal eye at her, tightened his grip for a moment, then let go. They both crossed their arms and turned away from each other. Zurg blinked. He had never had employee’s who had gotten this much on each others nerves. She turned her head to look at Nos a moment. “Thank you.” She said, then turned her head away from him again. Zurg cleared his throat, hoping to dispel the sudden awkward silence.
“Can’t you two just get along?” He asked, holding his hands out in front of him, palms up and a nervous smile on his ‘face’. Nos turned to face his ‘father’.
“Most likely not.” He said with a scowl. Warp whistled.
“Geesh, you guys act like an old married couple.” Warp said. Nos and DG gave him a skeptical look, then they looked at each other and started laughing. “Uh, something I say?” He asked, scratching his head. The two stopped laughing and turned to face him.
“If I am correct, most of the time with marriage there has to be some sort of attraction to begin with.” Nos said. “There is none.” He said. “Perhaps a tad bit of respect, not many people so much as look me in the eye.” He continued, a small smirk on his face.
“Afraid of what they might see, perhaps.” DG shrugged as she said this. “The eyes are the window to the soul, you know.” She said. Zurg didn’t really get what the young woman had said but nodded none the less.
“Well since you two respect each other, why can’t you two just get along?” Zurg asked once again.
“Because it beneath me!” Nos said, he and the woman glared at each other again and turned away. Zurg sighed. This was going to be a long day.
Buzz smiled as a crew of fellow Space Rangers brought 42 back to the base. “Good to see its back.” He said, as Nebula walked over to him and stood next to him.
“Gonna have’ta get that no good energy vampires control broken before you get in that thing, ranger.” The commander said. Buzz saluted. “There’s one other thing I’d like ya to see, son.” He said. “Follow me.” And he walked off; Buzz did as he was told. They came to another hangar; inside there was a strange looking black and grey ship.
“Sir, whose is it?” Buzz asked.
“We don’t know! We scanned the ship and didn’t find any sentiate life forms.” Commander Nebula said. Buzz nodded.
“How strange.” The captain said to himself.
“Nebula!” The LGM’s yelled in one voice. “We found something.” They said they carried out a charger with a robot in it; they also carried out two more. Buzz and Nebula looked at each other a moment, then turned there attention back to the LGM’s. The robot in the charger had goggle eyes like XR, but was slimmer and purple and had a wheel for feet. Another one was grey and green; it had one big eye, and had a duffle bag hanging from its shoulder. It looked kinda like a turtle. The third was mostly pink colors, had a screen for its eyes in the shape of sunglasses, and had what looked like pig tails protruding from its head, it was also missing its arms and legs. Buzz walked up to the charger and checked the energy level on the purple bot. It was fully charged. He flipped a switch on the charger.
“Let’s see if he can tell us a bit about the ship and is owner.” Buzz said as he turned to Commander Nebula who nodded in response. The little bots eyes lit up, they were black with a violet pupil, the charger released the poor little guy. He rolled out of the charger, holding his head.
“Ow… What hit me? Did I have another party? No, if that was the case I’d be lying in a puddle of oil and oil cans…” He muttered. The captain and commander looked at each other then back at the robot. The bot looked around wildly. “Hey! Hey, where am I?” He asked in a panicked state. Buzz kneeled down and put a hand on the robots shoulder.
“Easy now, your safe. This is Star Command.” Buzz told the little guy. The robot looked down at the hand on his shoulder and suddenly everything became clear. The giant purple vessel, losing power, checking the engine, that… Thing! Betraying the mistress. His pupils dilated as the memories flashed back to him. He shook his head and looked at the man. “So, what’s your name?” The man asked. The little bot gulped.
“I go by C-Bot, dude.” He said. Buzz raised a brow. “What? Never heard surfer lingo?” He asked, putting his hands on his hips. Then something else came to mind. “Hey where are my brother and sister?!” He asked. He looked around again and found them lying on the ground, he rolled over to them and pulled them back to the charger. Nebula gave CB a strange look.
“Brother? Sister? What are you talkin’ ‘bout?” He asked. C-Bot turned around to look at him and furrowed his brow.
“We were all made by the same person. So therefore we are siblings. Also, don’t you dare tell them I was concerned! I’m the oldest! I’m supposed to look like I couldn’t care less! Okay?” He asked. Buzz raised a brow.
“Uh, sure, C-Bot.” He said with a shrug and awkward smile. CB still had his brow furrowed and nodded. He turned back to his ‘siblings’ and hooked them up to it. “Okay, we know who you are. What are they called?” Buzz asked. CB motioned to the grey and green one.
“This is my little bro, Worry.” He told them and then motioned to the pink one. “And this is my little sis, Q-T.” He said. They both nodded.
“So where’s your owner?” Nebula asked. C-Bots pupils dilated again, he looked down at his wheel.
“I… I don’t know…” He said quietly. The two space rangers looked at one another.
“Well… Can you tell us who your owner is?” Buzz asked. C-Bots eyes became fully violet and he saluted.
“That information is restricted, sir!” He said. He shook his head and his eyes went back to normal. “Sorry, but the loyalty chip decides on what I can tell you, and you don’t get to know.” He said. I’m actually glad I have this thing now; I may have accidentally let it slip. CB thought and held back an evil grin.
Sorry about it being late and short. I blame the vacation. Well here it is. Nos and DG aren't exactly getting along at the moment. Heh heh heh.
