;D D’aww, thanks! Actually, Wine is my alternate ship!
It’s the pairing
after Beer that I see as most likely to happen (then Marred, then *cough-cough*
Mop [Fop/Mira] *is shot*,
then Big Mac – but I don’t exactly see Romac/Mira ending
happily).
Ahem. Anyway, moving on…
*assumes professorial-lecture stance* As one who has thoroughly studied the subject, let me say that there is actually a basis for
every Mira pairing EXCEPT for Nos/Mira (oh, and the extremely rare Rocket/Mira). Beer, Marred, Wine, Mop… craters, you could even pair Mira and
Ty Parsec together, based on just a little bit from Mira!
Beer… there’s a fantastically
enormous amount of material there if you look for it – some of the most telling episodes are: the movie/pilot itself, “Opposites Attract,” “The Crawling Flesh,” “Supernova,” and most telling of all are “Conspiracy” and “Good Ole Buzz.”
Marred… well, XR most DEFINITELY has a crush on the one decent female in his life. And while I think that Mira holds XR in a more…
brotherly light, her chemistry with him in some episodes (like “Holiday Time” and “42”) could very easily be interpreted as something a little bit more.
Mop… lemme just say that I wouldn’t really want Mira to end up with Fop. On the other hand, she could do worse if she’s being pushed by her father. Fop may be a screwball, but at least he’s a screwball with a big heart. And there
is warmth in Mira’s voice as she tells Fop that he was “unbelievably good.” *shrugs* A good writer could pull it off. …I just don’t want to. xDDD
*cocks head in curiosity* What other pairings does Warp have besides OC pairings? Eh, honestly, none of the old Warp/OC pairing were really any good, what little of them there were. So maybe I might sound a little arrogant when I say this, but my own OC Erin – I think – does pretty well with Warp… If you ever want to see some stuff regarding my little fan pairing, let me know. I’d actually kind of like your opinion, despite you being so strongly Wine.
Well, really, you’re the only other person I know who writes Warp in a romantic/quasi-romantic situation – in fics, anyway. KJ roleplays the romance, instead. ;D
I know… I’ve seen MiraElizabeth’s comments on dA. *grim* That’s horrible! And more than that, that’s just rotten! I happen HATE Buzz/Ozma, and think that it’s crazy, but you’ll never catch
me flaming other people for liking it! (Fortunately for me, there are very few who like it – I know, my very, VERY bad. Lol.)
Anyway, yeah, KJ’s right: nobody would yell at you here. I think people already had their say, if you’ll take a look at the first three pages. …Then again, if you haven’t, it’s probably just as well. It might depress you – it depressed
me, and this isn’t even my diehard ship! Anyway, people are faaar more respectful around here.
Welcome! ;D
*nods* Yeah, I agree with that. I love that moment between them in the freighter in “Nos-4-A2” – it’s just so funny! Of course, in “Ancient Evil,” she just wants to let him die…
…Mira, how
could you??
*sighs* Unfortunately, I haven’t seen “The Starthought”… That’s another Warp episode, isn’t it? Do they share any screen-time together there?
Anyway… HAN SOLO AND PRINCESS LEIA, YES PLZ. ;D Umm, Luke/Mara (on Mara’s part, anyway – oh, and this is a Star Wars Expanded Universe thing), Anne/Gilbert of
Anne of Green Gables… I don’t think I know of any other such pairings, but I’m sure they exist.
YESSSS PLZZZZ!!!! …Sorry, srsly bad fangirl spazz there. ;D My longest-standing fangirl crush, and it’s on a bad-and-not-so-bad-at-the-same-time-but-still-pretty-naughty guy! xDDD …And I’m solidly Light Side! xDDDDDD
……………….
…Ahem. I think that there are probably a lot of races that can have children with each other… to what result is another story. And I’m… um… Creationist…
Anyway, yeah, their races are either genetically nearly
identical, OR (and I think this is more likely)… Warp simply had a human parent and a Tangean parent. That’s the way
I write him (and one of these days, I’m gonna delve into the matter of the abilities he inherited from his mom, who’s the Tangean parent in my sprawling, largely-unwritten epic
). Anyway, you can site the Tangean Royal racism, but honestly, I don’t think it’s characteristic of the
whole race. If it was, we wouldn’t have Mira and her mom (King Nova says that she’s a lot like her mother). I think that human/Tangean families
do exist – we just don’t hear about them. ;D
YES (to the loyalty bit). Honestly, the end of “Ancient Evil”… that was a deliberate tie-in to a future storyline that was never officially explored! Oh yeah, and the “can’t drive a stick” bit in “Tag Team”… YEAH, RIGHT, WARP. Just how stupid of an excuse could he possibly have used? xDDD He only went back because he didn’t want anything to happen to Buzz.
But yeah, he just needs some kind of…
catalyst.
“get closer, or kill each other”… ROFL!!! Oh yeah.
Warp: I think you just can’t bear to let a gorgeous guy like me out of your sight.
Mira: Why you half-witted, stuck-up, scruffy-looking…
nerf-herder!Warp: Who’s scruffy-lookin’? *to Buzz* Musta hit her pretty close to the mark to get her
that riled up, huh, Lightyear?
Mira: *nods* Well, I guess you just don’t know everything about women yet. *leans forward and kisses Buzz, then walks away, self-satisfied*
Warp: *frowns and turns to Buzz* Take it easy.
…xDDDDDD
Well, I’ve touched on this already, so I won’t say anymore at present. But if you want to read a well-researched, well-reasoned, well-developed argument for Buzz/Mira, check this out: The two posts by SLWatson make an
excellent essay – probably the best for
any BLoSC subject I’ve ever seen.
…I’ll make you a fan of Buzz, yet! ;D Just wait and see!
(Warp was actually my first favorite – prolly ‘cause “Ancient Evil” was my first episode, BEFORE I’d even seen TAB. Mira quickly followed…
(Buzz was a late-comer. I’d always liked him, but I didn’t really love him until about a year ago. It started with me seeing Patrick Warburton as the true voice of cartoon!Buzz rather than Tim Allen, and separating cartoon!Buzz and toy!Buzz in my mind. From there, it snowballed. I started seeing the rest of the series, and I grew to really love this guy that was such a big hero but still had his flaws. And as I delved into his character to write him, I grew to love him not so much for being a hero as for what
makes him a hero. His dedication, his solid sense of justice, his unflagging faith in the fact that Good really does win out in the end… among other things. And yeah, he still has his flaws. He can be arrogant, dense, insensitive… and he has this frightening willingness to lie and/or bend the rules if he thinks that everything will come out right in the end. But I love him for all of that, just like I love Warp for all
his pros and cons. Buzz became
my hero. …Then I started drawing him a lot, and along the way, I’ve very nearly developed a fangirl crush on him! For a while, Warp was holding out only by a slim margin! xDDD
(…Anyway… Yeah. Buzz is a great guy. He really is.)
YOU rock! You rock for being such a Warp fan, for taking the time to develop this, for believing in it! Stick to your guns, girl!
…Yeah, that’s how I like to do Buzz/Mira and Warp/Erin. *ducks* Please, don’t shoot me!
xDDD …Oh, and your mind
must have been foggy – that was actually number
six, not five. ;D
…Hmm, on a more serious note, though, I rather foresee a love triangle – not including Romac, not including XR… but Buzz. The more I consider the concept, the more I feel that there
would be some conflict there…
Okay, and that wraps up my ridiculously long post that nobody probably read completely through, anyway!
And if you
did, here are cookies and high praises for your endurance skills! ;D
