I didn't really know where else to put it... ^^; Anyway... we were talking about animation in this thread and it reminded me of something I'd been thinking about a while back. What episode(s) features your favorite style of animation? I've always thought Lost in Time and NOS-4-A2 had the best animation of the whole series. The motion is so fluid. I even prefer these episodes to the movie. Which, along with episodes like Enemy Without a Face, probably has the second-best style of animation. ...Either that or Wirewolf. Just trying to come up with new threads, really.

oh ha I saw the title and went 'LILO N STIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH'
Stupid Kila. Stupid.
Wirewolf is my favorite. Lost in Time is fluid and bouncy (and Mira looks ADORABLE), but the squash and stretch can get out of control, distorting the character designs. Wirewolf doesn't distort oddly and is very fluid and three-dimensional, with some FANTASTIC expressions. A Zoo Out There and Large Target both look very nice art-wise, but the motion tends to be a bit lacking, kind of like anime (but... not).
Star Smasher is incredibly distorted. As for The Slayer and its ilk, it has the poor motion of Zoo Out There without the pretty art. Fail all around. Head Case is in a similar situation (it doesn't have the same style as The Slayer but it's not particularly attractive either), but I can forgive that particular episode because of the fantastic dialog.

Yes, same here, they are the ones that do the best Booster, they did a zoo out there and at large on a small planet, and some others. I think they did large target too, but they went a bit crazy with the strange expressions, I like it, not better, but I do . If I remember correctly, the credits say that they did nos4a2 too, but it doesn't look all that alike, I've said it before, I think it's same studio, different animator.

oh ha I saw the title and went 'LILO N STIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH' Stupid Kila. Stupid. Naw, honest mistake. :3 Anyway, good points. And yeah, Star Smasher looks awful. ...Rescue Mission kind of has the same kind of motion. Head Case... eh, for some reason all the color seems off in that episode to me, I don't know why... but yes, the dialogue is so good I have no problem with it. And... I can't think of anything else to say. :<

Hmmm...well, me being the biased person I am, I've got to say that "Revenge" had pretty clean animation and crisp colors, and "NOS-4-A2" did beautiful character animation (and they really did Mira justice) However, my favorite animation in general has been in both of the Roswell episodes.
I agree with the rest of you, "The Slayer" had the worst animation ever. Faaaail.

I can't say I was much fond of the Roswell eps, they tended to go off-model. And I had the same issue with 'Revenge', otherwise I agree with you.

Just out of curiosity, what episode(s) do you use as the models for how everyone should look?

I usually go with the movie and any episode animated by that same studio.

Usually "Enemy Without a Face" and episodes like it.
Although I'll look for a screenshot from any episode if I'm looking for a specific pose or expression. ;P
