No, really.
Okay, so, Nos-4-A2 would probably just LOVE having an inside connection to Star Command, wouldn't he? That's what XR originally was, after all, but that kinda stopped working when XR went all fangs-and-capes and everyone realized he had, well, turned evil. Nos is all into the possession and manipulation of robots, so he'd be thrilled to his little robo-tail to have some other robot willingly bend to his authority. Heck, he might even be happy without having to bite the robot (although that WOULD be a nice plus for him, I'm sure). If he knew the 'bot would be loyal to him without having to rely on mind-control, all the better for him. Mind-control, as XR has proven, can be a very faulty form of loyalty.
Meanwhile, 42's sitting around, single and totally available, probably packed full of Star Command secrets, and even for a robot she's very, very young. It's hard to picture someone with a personality like hers as naive but... well... okay, she's probably pretty darn naive. She also strikes me as the type who SAYS she wants a sensitive, sweet, heart-on-his-sleeves kind of guy (like XR can occasionally be, once you get past his outer defenses of Blazing Sarcasm), but who REALLY wants someone dangerous, someone cool and collected, a Bad Boy for her to ooh and aah over, and yet, someone classy at the same time.
Nos-4-A2 has erudition practically pouring out his mouth (it's probably the accent), and as a villain as well as an ENERGY VAMPIRE he's certainly got that dark, bad boy air about him; 42 is the exact kind of robot Nos would love to have as a mindless minion, the potential key to all of Star Command's secrets. Nos approaches 42, attempts to strike up a conversation and gain her trust without revealing who he is, 42 practically flings herself at Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome, and boom. They end up making plans to meet next Saturday, Nos promising to bring some fancy oil and 42 promising to bring the blueprints with all of Star Command's emergency exits (just so, well, y'know, Nos could get in and visit her at work or... something like that...), and they each leave thinking that they're the luckiest robot in the Galactic Alliance.
And if THAT isn't enough to sell the pairing, then just picture the traumatized look on XR's face when he discovers his ex is dating his personal worst nightmare. That sold it for me.

Well, you sold me. (As for XR, he just really, really needs to find someone else.)

XR has Mira. No, that's another thing that endears me to NOS-4-A2/42: suddenly putting XR in a really awkward/horrific situation, and I can see with Nos' General Dislike of XR that he'd hold it over foe's head and Mock, and then we get into Guy Fight/Rivalry of an entirely different, new nature between the two.

I'm sorry...I just don't see this working, for a few reasons...
1: I honestly don't think that 42 would be stupid enough to give NOS-4-A2 the blueprints to Star Command just because he's got some fancy oil or something...she's not THAT easy...
2: NOS-4-A2 drained 42 of power in "Revenge", that's gotta have some impact on her. I mean, if someone tried to rape you in the past, would you really tell them all about the top secret stuff at teh place where you work? I really don't think that after a stunt like that, 42 would be all "Ooh, sure yeah, I'll give you all teh star command secrets you want!"
3: NOS-4-A2 and 42's personalities don't really go together. I mean, sure, 42 might think that NOS is all great and stuff, but I get the feeling that NOS would see 42 at best, as an annoyance.

After five seconds: "I could use someone to talk to " Um ; I don't know, she doesn't seem that hard-to-get, either ...before she was sentient... um...

Yeah, I was wondering about timeline, cause after so long, I really don't know it (still, in fanfiction, the time line can be manipulated).
If it's an issue of time, I can see Nos/42 being drawn out "getting-to-know-each-other" for realism's sake.
And, I think, if NOS is determined enough, he'd be careful with 42, and heck, maybe down the line he could try to overtly corrupte her (and still without biting).
I admit, I really can't say anything about 42's personality--I really don't remember her ep. that well.

Yes, but she was still the ships main computer. Shouldn't she have been able to keep track of what's been going on in her systems? My computer can keep track of various glitches and how settings were on any given day...a break in security and a massive power drain is bound to be noticed...

Yeah, but she wasn't alive and... couldn't see or anything. I really doubt she'd know.

Oh, wow. XD I hadn't even thought of that. "*innocent look* Oh, dear, what's the matter? Jealous, little one?*evil laugh*" I'm sorry...I just don't see this working, for a few reasons... 1: I honestly don't think that 42 would be stupid enough to give NOS-4-A2 the blueprints to Star Command just because he's got some fancy oil or something...she's not THAT easy... Actually, yeah, I agree, it'd take more than that for him to get any useful info out of her; I kinda meant the "oil for blueprints" line as tongue-in-cheek. Odds are he'd have to work on her for a LOT longer than that before she REALLY trusted him enough to hand out anything on Star Command. 2: NOS-4-A2 drained 42 of power in "Revenge", that's gotta have some impact on her. I mean, if someone tried to rape you in the past, would you really tell them all about the top secret stuff at teh place where you work? I really don't think that after a stunt like that, 42 would be all "Ooh, sure yeah, I'll give you all teh star command secrets you want!" Oh, good point. D'you think she'd remember that, though? Once she gained a personality she didn't in the slightest recognize Buzz, the guy who'd been piloting her all this time. I think 42 was pretty much "born" the moment her personality formed. She doesn't show much sign of a memory before that. Although that WOULD be a really cool plot twist, if, maybe, somewhere in her CPU, her memories of life before gaining a personality were hidden. If something happened to trigger them, and if she remembered what her PREVIOUS experience with Nos was like, that'd be one horrible moment. "Mother of Venus, y-you DRAINED me once! And... and when your box was in my cargo hold, you BIT XR! XR's a really nice guy! And I TRUSTED you?!?!" That'd make a cool scene. 3: NOS-4-A2 and 42's personalities don't really go together. I mean, sure, 42 might think that NOS is all great and stuff, but I get the feeling that NOS would see 42 at best, as an annoyance. Total agreement there. The kind of guy he is, he'd just be putting up with her to get at her info, acting like the Nice Boyfriend for her sake. Odds are, he'd absolutely despise having to put up with her, but he sure as heck wouldn't show it. Although, you never know... the way his mind works, he might bask in the hero-worship. He seemed so proud of himself when he had XR under his control, what if he had control of another robot who had come willingly? Even if she were annoying, he might like that.

What about camera survellence? And technically, she's a robot, so she has never been, nor ever will be alive.

True. All true.
(I really don't think she'd ever remember NOS, though. Or anything from before she was alive. I mean, the ship isn't even her body anymore.)

What about camera survellence? And technically, she's a robot, so she has never been, nor ever will be alive. Well, not alive, then; "sentient" is the proper word. She didn't recognize Buzz at all, so if she does have some sort of camera surveillance, she obviously doesn't check it often. The odds are good she wouldn't recognize Nos immediately, if at all. And, heck, once she DID recognize him, especially if it's after they've been *ahem* "dating" a while, that'd still make for a pretty awesome angst scene. Because what's the fun of a pairing unless there are some bumpy patches? Or, well, Rocky Mountain-sized patches, in this case...

Just because she got a body transplant doesn't mean that all of her programming before she became sentient wasn't stored somewhere. Maybe when she was getting a new body, her systems automatically made a copy of everything that was on her hard disk before she became sentient.

I also thought that part of the scenario was Nos trying to hide his identity when dealing with 42? And hey, maybe 42 remembers the drain and got off on it (totally joking). Nos driving XR crazy with any relationship he had with 42 just seems like the natural thing to do. " He was your ex? Oh, this is just lovely!" Oh, good point. And... and when your box was in my cargo hold, you BIT XR! XR's a really nice guy! And I TRUSTED you?!?!" That'd make a cool scene. Since I see this idea as being surprisingly capable of being made into an actual ep. in the series, if it had lasted longer, the story arc would have to (predictably) end with Nos and 42 breaking up to say the least. And THAT you came up with above would be the in-ep. scene to do that break. T Although, you never know... the way his mind works, he might bask in the hero-worship. He seemed so proud of himself when he had XR under his control Just saying, that was one of my favorite parts out of the awesome NOS-4-A2 ep. (it was just too cute for me)

I smiled while reading this. Because it would make such good fanfic material in the hands of a good writer! I can totally see 42 falling for Tall, Dark And Handsome.
But... true, she didn't recognize Buzz, so she probably wouldn't even recognize NOS... the scenario of her suddenly remembering though cracks me up. It reminds me of all those soap operas you see on TV! XDDD
