Because I’m in an all Halm Fangirlish mood right now
Anyway I’m a voice actor freak x3
I look into their acting and compare them to the originals.
So yes, as much Halm Fangirl I might be, this topic is in no way to be understand as a “I diss the original because Halm pwns everything” nono, on the contrary, Larry Miller and Neil Flynn are the measures on which I actually rate Halm’s skills ^^
I’ve annoyed poor Spirit enough already with this topic, now I’m going to carry it out on the open x3
(It had to happen sooner or later, sorry if I annoy you xD)
Let’s just start so you get an impression
And let’s begin with my favourite <3 Not just because I love the couple and the episode, but because both Voice actors do an awesome work on this part.

Larry actually sounds basically sad on the last part… he takes a lot of time for the “2” which is just cute x3
Halm for his part gives an additional sound at 00:08 as you might notice. He’s alarmed by Buzz acting and therefore doesn’t sound sad, but helpless if you listen closely.
I know it’s hard to detect acting skill if it’s not the own language, but since you know what is supposed to be said… give it a try x3
To quote a friend of mine: It’s amazing how much the bare voice can change a character.
As for the additional sounds… Halm usually gets a lot of flirting characters. He plays XR less… mature though xD He has a hint of more child friendliness. Larry is the better flirter here when it gets to actually persuasiveness… xD
Example, yet again of the 42 episode.

Halm leaves out a lot of stuff here. He actually sounds rather “happy” talking about this subject (“Hey dude, guess what, I saw some hot chicks today ”) than “flirty” or to be totally casual “turned on” (“Hey dude, guess what, I met some hot chicks who fancied me x3”).
Oh and HEY I have another one x3
I’ll stop after that one (for a while ;P), I promise xD
It’s Nos-4-A2 this time. Something that I just noticed yesterday ^^
There are lots of differences this time, so the following clip is more mixed up to allow a better comparison.
So let’s take a closer look at the Bite scene

This is a 50/50 take here, imo. I like Halm’s scared acting a little better. He also has a more... wordy dialog than Larry
“Ow”
He actually got a SENTENCE where no one USED TO BE xD
That’s just because German is a really wordy language...
At the point where Miller goes all “door, door, door, door” (lolwordy huh?)
Halm has to speak a whole mess of words: “Let’s get out of here! C’mon open up, help!” This sadly gives away a lot of the scare factor since no one who’s scared can think of so much to say without spluttering D8
It balances out in the screaming though. Halm is a good screamer, he’s a loud screamer.
Also at 00:23 the shock moment that the whole room is suddenly red, was very quiet in the English version... I first noticed it until I heard Halm do this little sound at 00:29, this kind of stuff is a lot clearer with his voice since he’s a little bit louder all in all.
Also notice how Larry lets out a nice yelp while Halm seems to more... bite his tongue before the blackout xD
Anyway, I love the way Halm pronounces the word “Fracht” (cargo) xD
So much compliments for Halm on this part now comes the 50/50 thingy...
The evil laugh xD
Larry’s laughter give me chiiiills <3
Halm’s laughter is... to be true... pathetic *g* also the closing chuckle is barely heard... it’s there, but barely which is just... too quiet for Halm xD
And this grows throughout the whole episode... He tried to play XR evil but he totally failed at that imo xD I included some extra “evil Halm” clips, so you can make your own impression ^^
Okay that’s enough now, I guess xD (I’m in ur board posting senseless topics >)
If this topic contains too much downloading then tell me and I’ll upload it on Dailymotion or something like that ^^
Next posting will show you how Halm messed up “Downloaded” xD
