Can XR eat human food if he wanted to

I mean I have always wondered that. I mean on time he at shebert and got shocked, then another time he ate some sort of fruit....

Which one is it? I know he drinks oil most of the time, but does he eat anything else?

He's not seen eating anything else (and he sure didn't seem to like the sherbert or fruit very much). I like to think he eats metal pieces, like nails and lug nuts... but it's not canon that he eats anything.
