Mira watch Buzz pull his hand away, immediatly regretting pushing him away like that. Her hand felt cold, and for some reason she thought it looked darker, paler maybe, like maybe Buzz just holding it was making her glow and now all she was was a dead bulb pushed off to the side.
Also, Buzz looked a bit...she didn't know how to put it--sad? No, more like let down. She probably made him feel bad about getting all worked up because he simply wanted to hold her hand.
Now she just felt terrible. Boy, what love can do to a person in just a short amount of time!
"He's right. It is none of your buisness." Mira said, but she didn't sound angry. Just a little tired all of a sudden. She didn't know why, but once Buzz took his hand away it felt like her energy went away with it. Was it even possible to be energized when the person you love simply holds your hand? Maybe.
"But, thanks. For being glad I mean." She smiled lightly at him.
"Do you think you can break last night to Erin lightly?" Mira added as an after thought. "We don't want to scare the bride now." Or rise her blood-pressure. Either way.

"You're welcome."
"As lightly as possible, though she may already know by the time I get back. She's picked up the habit of watching the news with her morning coffee and breakfast." Warp paused and thought for a moment before signing off. "Well, I'm sure Erin would love to say "hi" if she knew I was calling you guys so "hi" from Erin and I guess I'll be speaking to one of you later. Good luck on your end."
Warp let out a breath that he felt like he'd been holding for a very long time, and the news of Hellboy didn't make it any better. A lot to do, no time to do it in and two people who don't want any of this to happen. Dear Lord.....how did things ever get like this? The question was left unanswered for the moment as he made his way back to the safe house where Erin was no doubt going to be waiting for him. The wheels were turning once again.

“Thanks – you, too,” Buzz nodded. “See ya tonight.”
Once the phone clicked off, Buzz settled back against the pillows and sighed. Sweet mother of Venus, how to say this… “Mira? I… I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable. Holding your hand, I mean. I’m sorry.”
Now or never, sink or swim, do or die… Why was the negative alternative always so… so negative?
“I don’t know… I mean, we’re just starting to date, but we’ve known each other for two and a half years, so I don’t know if we’re really moving too fast or not…” His voice and expression became very serious. “But if you think we are, I’ll slow down. Really. But if we do, I want you to know this first.
“I could have died last night – I was close. We’re always in situations where death is an ever-present possibility. And if something happened to either of us, before I told you…” His eyes fluttered close for a moment while he took a deep breath, and when they opened, those two perfectly blue orbs were soft and sincere. “Before I told you just how much you mean to me… Mira, you mean more to me than anyone else in the universe. I…” Just say it… “I love you.”
……… Vegas
Erin drummed her fingers against her coffee mug as she glanced at the TV screen, which was turned on to CPNN. She sighed and shook her head. “Warp Darkmatter, I am going to POUND you when you get back,” she muttered.
She also wanted to pound her brother for having a near-death experience. Starkisser reported that Buzz was now just fine, but that didn’t make her feel any better. Doggone it, why did the men in her life have to be such problem-children??

The universe was silent. For all they knew they could be the only living beings in the world right now. But seriously, the universe might just be stalling, waiting for the answer to the all too obvious question that lay in wait for two and a half years now.
Mira was...well...stunned, even if just a little. She wasn't expecting, in a hospital of all places, to have Buzz just pronounce his love for her. Was it too soon? Was this going too fast? Was she even good enough for him? And how was she supposed to respond to this if she didn't know her own feelings?
She felt him staring at her. No, that wasn't right. She was staring at him. It wasn't her fault, really, but just looking into his eyes, meeting the warmness in them and the undying devotion he had for her that would be forever true. He was truely in love with her. And somewhere deep inside her, she knew she did too.
With a deep, shuddering breath, Mira closed her eyes. "Buzz," She said, getting up to move onto the bed with him, sitting close to him as she wrapped her arms around his neck and let her head lay against his, her mouth near his ear.
"I love you, too."
And all was right in the world. Noise returned to the hospital room and life continued on outside their little happy world. Buzz was right, every day was dangerous. And every day something could happen to split them apart. But that couldn't stop them froming being happy, even if it might not last.

The elevator ride felt like it was going to take as long as the cab ride did even though the cab ride only took about fifteen minutes. He wanted to back at the apartment where there was a fresh pot of coffee and a....greeting waiting for him. It didn't even matter what kind of greeting it was going to be, just as long as it was a greeting.
Probably late for breakfast, but better late than never. Warp thought to himself as he stepped back into the safety zone. The smell of coffee and breakfast flooded him, bringing a smile to his face.
"Morning, honey. How'd you sleep?"

((KJ, I’ll reply to your post later, ‘kay? I already had this one done, so I just want to post it while I have the chance.))
She was staring at him, and he felt his heart threaten to hammer its way right out of his ribcage. Because he loved her, he knew that now, he loved her and it was warm and true and real…
She sat next to him on the bed, wrapped her arms around his neck, laid her head against his, so close that he could feel her breath against his skin. And he heard her say it. “I love you, too.”
He shakily released the breath that he hadn’t even realized he’d been holding. He turned to her so that their foreheads touched, and his arm moved to wrap itself around her body. And he held her close.
He wasn’t smiling, because some things were just too perfect for smiles. But his face was radiant as his heart filled with such a pure joy that he’d never known before.
She loved him.
She loved him.
He now understood how a man could lose himself in the eyes of the woman he loved, because he figured that could just about happen right now. So he closed his eyes, tilted his head forward slowly…
And their lips met.
Soft, slow, gentle.
And yet, so much power… as if eternity itself could be compressed into just a few moments.
His free hand moved up along her shoulder to her head, slowly stroked her soft red hair. And he leaned in just a little further, not overpowering, just moving a little closer…
It was like eternity. It was like infinity.
It was coming home.

Mira felt warm lips meet hers, soft and gentle. She closed her eyes, taking in the kiss without hesitation. The kiss was long, lingering, and warm, making her whole body heat up before and after he deepened it.
She never felt this good, this powerful. She never expected to enjoy this kiss so much.
And after they broke apart she still had her eyes closed, not wanting to lose what had just happened. She didn't want it to be a memory this quick.
With a shuddering breath she rested her head against his shoulder.

((Cherry, maybe we can stop with this and KJ and I wrap it up with Warp and Erin as fast as we can so that we can finally do… *drum-roll* THE WEDDING!! )) Eventually, they had to come up for air… but it happened slowly. She rested her head on his shoulder, and he continued to hold her, still stroking her hair slightly. He rested his head lightly upon hers, not speaking… Just breathing. Just… just being there. Craters, how could anything possibly be so perfect? So… completing? …Especially for a man who obsessed over his job as much as Buzz did. And yet… love still came, and made the universe so much better. And Mira. It was so… amazing… that it was Mira. His copilot, his partner, his – truth be told – best friend… Maybe somewhere, deep down, he’d known all along, but so many things had stood in the way… And now that they knew, he never wanted to let go. Ever. The funny thing was that, all of a sudden, the Galaxy’s Greatest Hero felt inadequate. Yes, that’s right – the rather egotistic Buzz Lightyear wasn’t sure that he was good enough. Because he knew that Mira was… Well, not perfect, but still so… He couldn’t think of a word. But she was, regardless. But whether or not he deserved her couldn’t stop him from loving her. He did. Heart and soul. They just lay there quietly, holding each other, for a long time. ………… Vegas“Good,” Erin replied, with the amused air of a mother who’s resigned to her son’s antics. “And tell me next time you’re gonna leave, problem-child.” She stood, taking her last sip of coffee. “I kept breakfast warm.” She set a plate of pancakes and eggs on the table, and quickly fixed a cup of coffee.

"Hahaha! Yes, mother-dearest." He laughed, the sound filling the apartment, as though he'd simply forgotten that the happenings of the past few months were about to come to a head in just a few hours.
"Hey! Thanks!" Warp practically bounded over to the table to enjoy his late breakfast. "I assume that you've heard about my problem-child brother?" He continued the conversation after saying a prayer over his meal. Hopefully Erin wasn't too upset with the news since he still had a healthy briefing to dish out.

Erin shifted her jaw slightly and looked as though she were about to say something, then gave a silent laugh and shook her head.
“Mm,” she replied as she began to load the dishwasher. “Nothing stays private for long once Brent Starkisser hears about it.” She stood and sighed, slouching against the counter. “Hypothermia.” She shook her head and returned to her task. “Did you call Buzz to ask if we’re still on for this evening?”

"Tell me about it. That's one more reason I wish Zurg would just drop it already and get on with life."
"Yep. We're still on. Buzz thought it would be a good idea to wear our uniforms to the ceremony since..." This was going to be interesting. He had forgotten to start from the beginning and tell Erin that Zurg had a new agent. "Since uh...."
Spit it out. There's not really anyway you can hide it now. So much for break it to her as softly as possible.
"Well...we're not out if it yet. I'm sorry, Erin, but it looks like we're going to have to fight for this every step of the way." Warp felt like he'd suddenly lost his appetite.

Erin let out a slight, sarcastic laugh.
Exhaling forcefully, she slammed the dishwasher shut. She couldn’t say that she was a bit surprised, though she wondered what exactly Warp was holding back. He was obviously not telling her something.
Was he scared? Was he afraid that he’d scare her with what he knew? She had fought her battle two nights ago; and though that didn’t necessitate that she wouldn’t get afraid or nervous or worn-down anymore, it did mean that those feelings no longer had any hold on her.
She turned to him, a frank look on her face. “Then we’ll fight. There are times when I might get tired, but I’m too much of a fighter to quit the game.” And boy, was that ever the truth. Certainly, if Erin hadn’t been a fighter, she wouldn’t have gotten as far as she did. It was like an instinct, something in her blood.
She glided over to Warp and bent down over his shoulder, reaching for his real hand to squeeze it. “Just finish breakfast, and you can tell me what you’re so obviously trying to hide.” She gave him a wink and a small smile.
((KJ, I figured we could let it go here, and I start the wedding thread…? Well, the thread's made, at any rate. ;D))

Oh, boy. Warp didn't really know what to say or think as Erin slammed the dishwasher shut. He could see her thinking about the situation and he waited patiently for the pep talk that was coming. Flooding! FLOODing!! It was annoying. For the past couple of days a feeling of extreme confidence had been worming it's way into Warp's gut, replacing the feelings of nervousness and apprehension. Now, it was a full out flood as far as he was concerned.
"I was hoping you'd feel that way about it." What was left of breakfast looked really good again.
"Alright!" It was more of an annoucement than anything else as Warp made breakfast disappear and put his dishes in the dishwasher. "Whadda ya think about saying, "Who to say" one last time and getting married, finally?" He returned the wink and gave Erin a light kiss on her forehead.
((Sounds good. I'll be right over.))
