very!!!!
"SO!? This is Zurg! I know he's never been this serious and now that he is I don't want to be on the receiving end! And you hanging around me isn't going to help either of us! Why do you always have to be so stubborn?" The situation was quickly reaching it's peak.
So much for making up about the last fight. Warp thought gloomily.
I gotta go in about seven minutes

Warp sighed with exasperation. Erin was making too much sense for him to argue with her. So what else was new? He figured that he might as well listen to her plan. If there was one thing he had learned in their short time together was that Erin was one tough cookie when it came to arguments. He rubbed the back of his neck again.
"So, what' your plan? It better be good." Warp hated the idea of not just running and hiding in one of his favorite spots, but he had to give it a try. Maybe Buzz would help him, eventually.
gotta go. thanks for the fun.

bye! thank YOU!! ;D "Umm, I didn't exactly have a plan, per se..." Erin winced at Warp's face, which said all too clearly: Yeah, that's just the problem - you don't THINK before you jump into things! "I was kinda hoping we could talk it out! But... whatever you end up doing, I want to KNOW, Warp. Let me be your accountability partner. Tell me if you're going off-planet, if you're taking a job - WHATEVER. Even if there are days that you're not really doing anything, just... call me. Just 2words: I'm okay. If 36 hours go by without 1 call from you, I'll know that something's wrong, and I'll call the team out." She took a deep breath. "Please." Okay, Saron-hon, any time you wanna bring Zurg in would be good, now! Oh yeah, and shameless plug: www.fanfiction.net/s/4695546/1/For_Good_I_Watermark_REMASTERED! ;D

Sorry I wasn't here for so long. You could say that I've been under the weather...if by weather, you mean a massive blizzard that causes the third world-wide Ice Age.
Crumford Lorak hung up the phone on Erin Frame, his hand shaking as he dropped it to the ground. "Very good, Lorak," a tall pale human with oiled green locks kept a tight grip around the pigeon's neck. "And she wasn't even suspicious of your eagerness to answer her questions...well played for once." Lorak gulped. He did not like this strangers, especially not humans. They always seemed to know how to twist a society until they come out on top. "Yeah, I shoulda went into showbiz," Crumford rasped as he tried to pull the iron grip off of his throat. "Now could ya please lemme go? I've got paying customers to get to." "As you wish," Zurg sneered behind his hologuise as he flung the little cretin to the opposite side of the alley, allowing the sniveling excuse for a backbone to straighten out against the grimy walls. "So they're at an appartment," Zurg's jade eyes narrowed. "Of course Warp would get involved just as his life's on the line, but I never thought he'd get a Church brat into that position." And so Zurg aka stranger took out a sleek communication chip, pressing the button with his slender thumb. "It's time I get a delivery..." ... Some time elapsed before Ed made his way down the winding alleys of Tradeworld. He didn't usually like to make his rounds here so late at night, but he got an order he couldn't refuse. Ed groaned about his sore arms as he heaved a crate of the perishable goods all the way to a shady complex; a hang-out for the usual riff-raff. Right after he knocked on the door, using his foot, Ed straightened his posture and was sure to grin widely--one must always show customers good service, no matter who they may be. As the door creaked open, Ed was confronted by the tallest human he ever saw. Ed looked down at the clipboard balanced precariously on his crate. "Uh...special delivery for a Sir Gemp Eror?" "Yes, that would be for me," Gemp smiled at Ed before using the Elthusian sleep stab, where he pressed a few pressure points in Ed's neck and sent him tumbling to the ground, knocked out for at least three to six hours. The crate slipped from Ed's arms and into the air, but Gemp caught it in one hand. With the other, he took out a sleek device that scanned Ed's body from hat to sneakers, using an infrared light that downloaded the man's image into its databanks, for future use. But before Zurg could go about crafting another disguise from Ed's image, he turned his eyes to his package. "Ah yes," Gemp was pleased, as he pried off the top of the crate. Could it truly be, after all these years? He deeply inhaled the air. "Yes, yes it's finally here! I actually got my delivery!" Zurg was beside himself with glee, for in the box was a pile of popcorn shrimp. He carried the crate inside the room, ready to feast on one of his favorite dishes fried to perfection. "I never got these delivered on time when I was an alien...perhaps I should pretend to be human for more transactions of this nature," Zurg thought to himself, as he enjoyed his meal. Once his stomach was satisfied, he could chase after Warp without having to worry about any hunger, save for that for revenge.
For the record, I go to Church. Just don't think Zurg approves of it. And yes Sky, I DID take a look at the remastered version already. You did improve, but you forgot something in chapter 8...

Saron, I need to REWRITE the first 6 chapters BEFORE I can edit the rest! Don't worry - Chapter 8 will be edited AND with more about the fans!
"We're heading to Tradeworld to make sure Erin and Warp are okay??" XR echoed his captain.
"Affirmative, Ranger," Buzz nodded. "Zurg's not gonna let either of them slip away so easily - he's gonna go after them, and they're gonna need backup."
"I sure hope we get there in time to stop anything bad from happening," yawned Booster.
"Me, too, big guy," Mira sighed. She stretched and yawned. "Buzz, I'm getting us some black coffee - we're gonna need it."
Buzz nodded again. "No turpentine, though."
"Very funny." Mira wearily stumbled out of the bridge and down the corridor to the galley. This was SUCH a LOOONG night...
S'yeah. Figured it was probably action-time again... Your turn, Saron!

While Warp and Erin were having an animated discussion, Ed the courier came up behind them. Ed tapped Warp on the shoulder, causing the blue man to jump at the stranger's touch.
"Whoa there," Ed said in his normal voice. "I just have a package for you somewhere..." Ed was padding his pockets, but couldn't seem to find what he was looking for. Meanwhile, Warp stared at
Ed, wondering if this was all a trap, as he never ordered anything.
Ed rubbed the back of his head, "Oh no, did I mess up the route again? I swear, ever since I bumped the back of my head, I've been screwing up the addresses." Ed tried to stumble away, but Erin couldn't let the poor injured guy leave just like that, so she grabbed his arm and asked him to stay.
"Sorry, but I got my rounds to run," Ed confessed. Erin was at least not going to let the man leave without a decent meal, despite his protests that he just ate, so she made Warp run back up to the apartment to find a snack.
"Oh, Miss Frame is it?" Ed questioned. "It would be great if you could help me figure out where to send this," he brought out a small box, about the size you get for an engagement ring. "The directions are inside, so I wouldn't lose them in this strange mental state.”
So Erin took the box and opened it, and a nerve-numbing dart popped up at hit her in the neck. Ed's friendly expression changed into one of a sinister sneer, as he held the girl in his arms. Erin’s eyes widened with fear, as Ed picked up her presently limp form with ease, dangling her above the lower levels of Trade world, with zooming traffic underneath.
“So sorry Miss frame, but this new prototype is really temperamental!”
Erin tried to slur out a few words along the line of “why are you doing this?”
He let out a familiar evil chuckle right into her ear, “Muahahaha…” And Erin’s eyes lit up with fear. She was trapped with a madman, held over her doom.
While Erin was struggling to break away from his grip, Ed laughed, “What, you want to fall so soon? Where’s the fun in that? The cat likes to play with its food after all, little mouse,” before he chaged the subject. “You’re a…what’s the term…Christian right?”
Erin’s moves slackened as Ed continued, “And you believe that God cares for you, along with every other human and human alone, as nowhere else is it stated that they care for anyone different from the stock race, even excluding others of your own species; forgiving entity indeed.”
“Is there a point?” Erin wanted to scream at Ed, who continued questioning her.
“Will your God save you? Will he swoop down from His heavens and usher you to safety? Or....will you die....and reach the conclusion that you are all....alone,” he whispered. “Alone, knowing that everything you ever did, everything you ever believed was a lie.”
Warp came back to an appalling scene, and a sloppy salami sandwich in his robotic hand. “Ed, what in craters are you doing? Let GO of Erin!”
Ed pretended to allow his grip to falter, “What, you want her to fall?” Ed sadistically laughed, “Guess that’s one way to end a relationship.”
Warp threatened Ed, “If you hurt her, I’ll, I’ll—” Ed threw his head back, “You’ll what, hit me? And allow your sweetheart to plummet to her doom?” His voice lowered to a lethal tone. “Just try me.”
“Ed, why?” Warp asked, with scenarios rushing through his head. Did Zurg manage to hire a new agent so quickly, and a former courier at that? Warp pushed them out of his head, preparing to leap in and bring Erin to safety, but Ed kicked an immobilized puck hidden under the cuff of his pants, hitting Warp squarely in the chest, clamping onto his skin and sending shockwaves into his body, rendering his mobility inconsequential.
Warp fell to his knees, as Ed, wounded to the core, went on a soulful rant, “Why did you choose this, this, THIS girl over me.....over me? The person who took you in, when no one else did! You would betray me, for her!”
“But I never did that to you!” Warp tried to picture just how hard Ed must have hit his head to end up in a state like this.
“Not Ed, you unimaginative buffoon,” Ed frowned. He quickly powered down the hologuise, revealing the Evil Emperor Zurg in all his purple glory to the horrified Warp.
The crimson eyes held a fierce anger, with a tint of madness around the yellow pupils, and a slightly demented grin spread wide across his face. His black cape was flapping in the wind, as the sounds from the bustling metropolis below seemed to soften in the intensity of the moment.
“Zurg,” Warp gasped.
“That’s EVIL emperor Zurg to you, lecherous traitor,” Zurg sneered, tightening his grip on Erin’s wrists and neck. She made a few muffled sounds of protest.
Warp ignored this comment, pleading to allow Zurg to spare her because he loved her.
The emperor was not amused, “You think that your love is so powerful, that it can make you turn over a new leaf? That it can make you forget everything you’ve worked for? Well! I'm going to show you exactly how frail this love is, when her body contacts with the hard, cold ground below at exactly 9.98m/s squared!”

WOW, girlfriend - that was EPIC!!
As Zurg taunted Warp, Erin - as terrified as she'd ever been in her life - prayed. Dear Lord, give us strength... just... HELP us! Show me what to do!
In that moment, she remembered the Beretta hidden in her jacket. Strength slowly seeped back into her body - not wearing the nerve toxin off completely, but enough to raise her condition from limp to shaky.
It was enough.
Both her hands were already at her chest, having feebly attempted to loosen Zurg's durasteel grip. Using the left hand as a cover, the right hand fished into the jacket and shakily grasped the Beretta. She turned the safety off and cocked the handgun.
Lord, give me peace... let me make this shot.
A calm such as she'd never known flooded her, and she sought out Warp's eyes one last time and gave him a full smile. I'll always love you - never doubt that.
Then she let go. Let go of her terror, let go of her love, let go of her will to live - she let it all go. Not my will but Yours be done.
"Well!" Zurg was saying. "I'm going to show you exactly how frail this love is, when her body contacts with the hard, cold ground below at exactly 9.98m/s squared!”
"No," Erin said quietly. She whipped the Beretta out of her jacket to bear on Zurg and fired.
Then she was falling, and, somewhere above her, she heard Warp scream, "NOOOOOO!!"
She was falling... and falling... And death was no longer an enemy.
On MY next post, you'll find out what happens to Erin, okay?

Warp stood petrified, as he watched Erin fall toward the street below where he and his ex-boss were standing. He felt weak all over and he felt angry.
God...if your out there I could really use some HELP here!! I don't want to be who I've been. I wanna change! Warp screamed on the inside as Zurg just laughed next to him, obviously enjoying the moment. Warp turned to look at him and he couldn't believe that he'd once worked for such a being.
Never again. For Erin if for no one else. Never. "Zurg," Warp got his ex-boss' attention immediately. Apparently he'd been waiting. "I'm not sure why you did that, but know this, the Warp Darkmatter we knew just died. Nothing I ever had is more important to me now than my friends. Go ahead, take it way. I don't need it." Warp waited a moment to let his words sink in and then he walked away.
I't corny I know.

NOT CORNY!!
Erin felt herself suddenly uplifted... strong, warm arms... flying... "Buzz," she whispered.
"Sis, what's going on??" Buzz cried.
THAT snapped her to full awareness. "Holy nova, Warp's still up there at the hotel with Zurg!"
Buzz actually swore, then asked, "Zurg dropped you?"
Erin nodded. "I shot at him... I'm not sure if I actually hurt him, though."
"We've gotta hurry!" Buzz nodded. "Booster, come take Erin! Mira, you're with me!"
Buzz shifted Erin into Booster's waiting arms, ignoring Erin's cries of "Wait! Buzz!" Then he and Mira jetted back to the hotel. Landing near Zurg, Buzz told his archenemy, "It's time to finish this."

"And where do you think you're going?" Zurg snarled as he grabbed Warp Darkmatter by the scruff of his coat. "I didn't excuse you from my presence; you're the reason I came out of my way to this cespool of flith and common thugs. Why, they make the grubs look spic 'n span!"
As Warp let out a cry while Zurg's ice cold fingers dug into his good arm, Zurg sneered, "What? Does the sight of blood vex you?" He laughed, "Don't worry Darkmatter. I woudln't dream of killing you. I have a much more fiendish fate in store for you."
Just as Zurg was about to tell Warp of his evil designs, Buzz Lightyear came and just had to ruin the moment, spewing nonsense about finising this, as if it were a home project of some sort.
"And finish this we shall," Zurg taunted in a sneer. If Buzz was going to play the game, Zurg was going to enjoy bending the hero's own moral code.
The purple emperor dropped the bullet at Buzz's feet, which he caught from Erin's assassination attempt.
"I believe this bullet belongs to the little brat your in custody of," Zurg eyed Buzz with disdain. "Really now--a gun, with a physical bullet no less? How primitive."
Buzz was steaming mad, "You tried to kill her!"
"You're mistaken," Zurg grumbled. "I merely tried to test a theory is all. But what a pity; I thought better of you, as a man absorbed so much more in things grander than a petty girl."
Buzz took on various fighting poses, but Zurg continued to keep his hands behind his back, intent on talking a bit more instead of te usual hum and drum of battle, where Lightyear "won" and he zoomed off to Planet Z.
Buzz was enraged. "How could you?"
"How could I?" Zurg laughed. "I'm an evil emperor, you twit! What, you think just because I like to goof off and play along with the ruse that being 'good' amounts to anything, that it means I don't have a sadistic streak?"
Zurg growled, "What a tragic mistake."
"Is there any point to this?" Buzz's muscles were tensing up.
"Buzz old boy," Zurg started ramlbing, "I'm going to tell you a story."
Had the emperor gone mad?
"Once upon a time," Zurg began, "there was a foolish knight that believed his kingdom was the epitome of all that is noble. He fought bravely for his home, risking his life time and time again, unaware of the countless murders and tavesties of justice that his leaders committed every day..."
Buzz grumble, "If you're tying to tell me that Star Command and the Galactic alliance are wrongdoers..."
Zurg waved his hand, "No, no, that's a lesson you'll learn on your own." Zurg continued, "No, this knight one day was faced with a decision of such insignificant consequence, save for the one in his heart."
Buzz asked what Zurg was hinting at.
"Lightyear," Zurg smiled, "You have to choose who will perish; the blue traitor, or the preachy child?"
have to go, but will explain it all in next post

“I don’t know WHAT you’re playing at, Zurg,” Buzz spat, “but Erin’s SAFE! You CAN’T do anything to her! And I WON’T let you kill Warp!”
At that moment, they all heard a scream. It was Erin.
Okay, Saron... WHAT'S GOING ON??

Zurg let out his signature laugh, "Bwahahaha, haven't you already figured it out?" Zurg just loved the tenseness of the situation. "I'm not a fool, no matter what you believe; as Warp was enlisted in my payroll, he signed a few contracts (putting the moon in my name, as the man never reads what he signs), got a few shots, and had some nanobots injected into his veings, that can destroy his blood cells at a moment's notice, causing him to perish in a painful way as soon as I say a particular word, as it is voice activated. But I'm not telling what the word is!"
Zurg grinned from his own genius, "As for the girl, that dart also contained a poison, 3 grams of ALP to be exact, which produces lethal phosphine gas in contact with hydrochloric acid or water. After severe vomiting, the victim loses consciousness, the blood vessels rupture, and body cavities fill with blood." He eyed the whimpering Erin, who had curled up in a quivering ball on the floor. "I give her two hours tops."
Then he turned to Lightyear, throwing his cape behind him, "But you can save her, Lightyear. All you have to do is condemn Warp to die, and I'll even administer the antidote myself, which is hidden in a safe location at the moment; not on my person."
"And Lightyear," Zurg tapped his teeth with his pointed fingers, "Instead of me simply giving the word to terminate Warp, I'd rather you strangle him with your own hands."
After seeing Buzz struggle with the moral dilemna, as illustrated by the pained expressions of horror on his face, Zurg brought him back to his senses.
"You don't have much time, Lightyear," Buzz pointed at his Zolex. "The clock's ticking."
An impossible choice, an absurd situation, how was Lightyear going to react? This was evil indeed.

In an unguarded moment, Erin grabbed Mira's jetpack and took off to return to the hotel. "She's getting away!" XR cried, grabbing his helmet.
"I can't blame her," Mira sighed. "She needs to be there. And we need to be here - praying. Every ounce of my instinct is telling me that she and the guys are going to need all the prayer they can get." Booster bit his lip, but knelt with Mira. "Dear Father in Heaven, Buzz, Erin, and Warp really need Your help right now. Guide them, and give them strength and wisdom to do what needs to be done..."
Back at the hotel...
Buzz's tortured gaze wandered back and forth between Warp and Erin, his heart screaming. I CAN'T do this! I CAN'T let them die! Zurg had finally dealt him the cruelest blow he could ever deliver, and, judging from the insanely-sadistic delight in his glowing crimson eyes, he knew it.
Warp's head was bowed, the man having already accepted defeat. He didn't deserve to live - Erin did. And Buzz had every right to his blood - it would be an easy choice. At least, that's what Warp thought. And Erin...
Erin lay in a fetal position, her small, severely-weakened body already wracked with convulsions. She slowly writhed as one moment, she trembled with chills and tried to pull her jacket tighter around her, and the next moment, she burned, sweated, and tried to loosen the jacket. Still, her warrior's spirit burned fiercely within, defying the pain. Looking into her eyes, though, broke Buzz's heart - they were no longer the lively brown eyes brimming with the vivacity that had won his heart... they were now betraying her defiance, diluted with suffering. And the message in them was all too clear: DON'T. Don't let him win. Don't let Warp die. Big Brother, I'm not afraid to die...
I WON'T let you DIE!! Buzz wanted to scream back at her.
Nana sat across the table from him, squeezing his hand. "It's all right, honey. I'm not afraid of death. I'm going home."
Buzz tightly gripped her frail hand in his big one. "Nana, please... don't leave me. I need you..."
Standing in the rain at the funeral, feeling Commander Nebula's hand on his shoulder, never hearing what the pastor was saying...
Warp calling and piloting the cruiser while Buzz brooded over his loss...
Warp helping his partner home the one time he decided to go out to drown his grief in alcohol... "It's gonna be okay, Partner. You're gonna be okay..."
"Hi, I'm Buzz Lightyear." "Hey. Name's Warp - Warp Darkmatter."
"What would you do without me?" Warp smirked, leaning back in his seat and folding his arms over his chest. Buzz grinned. "I'd be a wreck." They both laughed...
"Get out of here!" "No!" "Go!" "We're partners -" "I said GO!!" "WAAARP!!" He tried to cover his eyes as Warp disappeared in the explosion.
"Come on, Lightyear - I can't leave without you..."
"Warp, you saved my life." "I figured I owed you one..."
Warp stood in the doorway, almost invisible behind the huge pile of bags and presents he was carrying. "Lightyear!" he called, his voice muffled. "A little help here??"...
"I told you," Warp whispered to Erin. "Some things just don't change." "Some things DO," Buzz pointed out, twisting around in the pew to fully face his former partner. "YOU'RE here..."
Buzz shook his head. "She's looking for a commitment that you're not going to break her heart." Warp's navy-blue eyes were firm. "I won't..."
Buzz sat at the edge of the bed and grasped Erin's fragile hand. "Hey," he smiled...
"I think you'd make a great big brother!" Erin told him... "Yes, Buzz, I want to be a Space Ranger..."
Erin grinned and threw herself at Buzz again, hugging him tightly. “Thanks for everything, Big Brother...”
Warp walked over to them, looking shot and world-weary despite his debonair appearance. “So, where’s that new kid sister of yours from the past?” he asked Buzz. “Kid sister has a name, and kid sister isn’t so much of a kid anymore, Warp,” Erin said evenly but pointedly...
“Okay… Warp can change – I know he can. But he’s not gonna do it without someone on his side.” “Someone like you.” “Uh-huh.” “But why you?” “Because nobody else will.” Erin wrapped her arms around her and stared out her window. “I have to believe he can come back.” “Why is this so important to you?” Buzz pressed quietly. Arms still wrapped around her, eyes still staring sightlessly out the window, she shrugged, though there was no nonchalance in the motion. “I’m not sure I know why,” she said, almost inaudibly. “Just… don’t condemn me for it.” Buzz quickly reached out and squeezed her shoulder. “I’m not condemning you, and I won’t.” There was a pause, and then: “I’m still new to this whole big-brother thing, Erin.” “And I’m still new to this whole little-sister thing,” she said. She shook her head and smiled. “Sounds like we both need help.” “Maybe we can help each other out.” “Are you sure you’re up for the job? I hear your sister’s quite the handful.” “I think I can handle her.” “You think, huh?” she smirked...
He sighed, knelt beside her, put his hand on her shoulder. “Erin, I told you that this wouldn’t be easy, and you still said that you wanted to do it. You knew, too, that it would include times like this. “Sometimes, getting up and going on is the hardest thing you’ll ever have to do. I think you know that already, in a way. Sometimes, being a hero just means that when you think you can’t take any more, when your body tells you you can’t take any more, you push yourself up, and you keep going. It can make a big difference – all the difference in the universe. “You are a Space Ranger, Erin Frame – show it to the universe.” He straightened, and held out his hand. She looked at it, then up at him as he smiled. Though she trembled all over, she grasped his hand and stood...
Buzz received an envelope with no return address on it. Inside was a small piece of paper, with a few words scrawled on it: Thanks, Big Brother. You were right. Buzz shook his head and smiled...
Buzz wrapped his arms around Erin from behind – a gesture he would not have used before. “You’re welcome, Sis – you’re worth it...”
"WarpandImadeadealtogiveeachotherachanceforoneyearandseewhathappensfromthere," Erin said in a rush. "He - you - what the - ERIN!!"...
"You really DO love him, don't you?" Buzz asked her quietly."Yeah," she said softly. "I really do..."
May it be an Evening Star (he could still hear Erin's beautiful voice singing) Shines down upon you May it be when Darkness falls Your heart will be true You walk a lonely Road Oh, how far you are from Home! ~*~ Mornië utúlië Believe, and you will find your way Mornië alantië A Promise lives within you now ~*~ May it be the Shadow’s call Will fly away May it be your journey on To light the Day When the Night is overcome You may rise to find the Sun ~*~ Mornië utúlië Believe, and you will find your way Mornië alantië A Promise lives within you now A Promise lives within you now...
Buzz slowly came back to himself, and realized something. Erin was clutching stubbornly at her stomach, desperately trying not to heave.
She didn't have much time left.
"Well, Lightyear, what's it going to be?" Zurg asked. "The traitor or the child?"
Things had never been so clear.
Buzz's heart filled with an unnatural calm as he said softly, "No." Then, louder and firmer, seeing the incredulous look on Zurg's face: "I won't condemn either to death. That'd be letting you win. You can't win if they both die - they would be choosing their fates, then, not you."
Warp snapped his head up to stare at Buzz, and Erin's faded eyes still managed to shine, if only a little bit. Then she could no longer hold back the venom pushing at her stomach, and she vomited.
"NO!!" Warp cried. "Buzz, I don't care about me! Help HER!!"
Buzz shook his head, helpless. Erin had made her choice... and he couldn't stop her.
And she kept heaving...
Oh, sweet holy mother of Venus...

Goodness sakes you guys!! This is turning epic!!
Warp squirmed in Zurg's grasp as he desperately tried to get away. He did not want Erin or anyone else to have to suffer for the mistakes that he'd made in the past. If Zurg wanted to take his life that was fine by him, but he would NOT allow some one else to die in his place.
"ERIN!! Don't you dare!! Do you hear me??!" Warp screamed at the top of his lungs. In desperation he grabbed one of Zurg's horns and pulled as hard as could and succeeded in getting the evil emperor to release his shirt and good arm, which was bleeding steadily. Zurg shouted something quite foreign as he grabbed dropped the blue alien.
Halfway between Zurg and Erin, Warp suddenly collapsed onto the ground as the nanobots in his bloodstream began to eat away at his blood cells. He screamed and clenched his fists in pain as he crawled toward Erin who was still vomiting.
Buzz rushed over to try to help Warp.
"Warp, let her go. There's nothing you can do." Buzz attempted to coax his old partner's pain. Warp turned and punched him square in the chin from a sitting position.
"Do you remember how you felt when you thought I had died, Buzz?! DO YOU!?! That's how I FEEL NOW!! Just let me be, Buzz. Just let us be." Warp didn't want anything at that moment but to be with Erin. She had given him something he had thought that he could never have again after he'd signed on with Zurg. She'd given the hope that he could change, that he could be different, that he didn't have to be who he was; that he be something or someone more and better than he was already and that he DID HAVE A CHOICE! No matter what it cost him. That it was okay to be himself. She had accepted him just for who he was!! The only other person to do that in his entire life was Buzz....who he just punched really hard. Really, really hard.
"I'm sorry, Buzz," Warp turned to his old friend again. " I didn't mean to hit you that hard. It' just...." His voice trailed off as he cradled Erin in his arm, which were growing weaker by the minute. Warp started to cry.
"It's just what?" Buzz asked, his own voice getting stuck in his throat. He knew he was about to see very important people in his life die right in front of his eyes.
"I'm scared, Buzz. I've never been this scared in my entire life, and we've been through a lot." There was a short pause. "But ya know it's okay. At least Erin and I can still be together after this." Warp smiled the best smile he could manage with the pain growing more and more as his body began to die.
Erin opened her eyes to look up at Warp. One question was all that he could see there.
"Yup. Some one may call a wimp or whatever for it, but I did. I'll see ya on the other side.....kiddo." Warp wondered where he'd managed to find a joke in all of the terror and chaos, but then again it was a specialty of his.
His breaths were becoming shallower now; Erin was close to unconscience. At least he was free of Zurg; he just wasn't free of his past.
"Hey, Lightsnack? Do me one last favor?" Warp came across as sounding rather sheepish.
"Sure, Warpster. What is it?"
"Tell the Commander I wanted to come back full time with you and your team of rookies. That I'm sorry for the things I did up until this morning. I wish that I'd never signed over to work for a monster like him," Warp glared at the evil empire with all the disdain he could muster. "And if you ever catch any other young ranger trying to do what I did, tell them I said it's not at all worth it. You'll lose everything. Please do that for me?" Warp didn't take his gaze off of Zurg. He wanted to make sure that he got his point across.
"You bet Warp. We'll miss you." Buzz did his best to stay composed but he could feel his eyes starting to water. He was screaming on the inside. Buzz had hoped Warp wouldn't notice but he did.
"It's okay to cry, Buzz. Sometimes it's good for ya." Warp smiled to himself. Found another joke. Erin had gone completely unconscience now and Warp was beginning to feel himself fade in and out. His vision was blurring and sounds were becoming blended.
"Soo, this is what it feels like." He said it more to himself than anyone else as he looked down at the young woman who had given him back to himself. That and so much more.
