From Mira's Wedding we know that Scar his advisor doesn't think much of XR -snerk- Yeah, that might be just XR. He does look a bit like a kiddy toy. With the bright colors and the overall... laughably non-threating ness. Also, he seems to get called things like 'tin can' and 'glorified calculator' a lot. Which doesn't seem to happen to the dumb-as-shovels Hornets, for some reason. Maybe because they don't get in people's faces like XR does. (NOS and King Nova could sit and talk about how much rangers suck. Lol. That'd make Mira really angry... which is another reason why I think this doesn't really work, but anyway.)

In crazy AU I'm planning, Nos and Mira sorta become friends down the line, so I could just see "meeting-the-parents" thing in a friends capacity, and he and King Nova getting along. Or, hey, Nos crosses paths with just King Nova and just gets along with him--meaning, their meeting and getting along really has zero to do with Mira, but she gets annoyed that her Dad's getting along with a criminal, and her Dad rather wishes she could keep robot company (not XR--I think he does annoy the King) more like Nos, barring criminal record.

I think it's because the Hornets aren't exactly sentient...kind of like the computers today. You can tell them to do stuff, but they won't give you any crap about it...

Well then how are they less glorified calculators than the little robot who acts like he thinks, feels and reacts to what you're saying like a person?!
I see what you mean, though, they're not 'active' enough to annoy someone to the point of insulting them.

Of course, there's always the possibilty that King Nova could go the opposite way, and say "He's not a Tangean, and you met him through those awful Space Rangers! You're never going to see him again, do you hear me?!"

You're never going to see him again, do you hear me?!" The one point upon which Buzz and King Nova would agree: no more seeing Nos. XD Oh, wait, they agreed about the whole Supernova thing, too... Ah, well, you get the point. Either way, lovely irony. A three-way shoutmatch between King Nova, Buzz, and Nos. Nobody agrees with anyone else for more than three seconds. Now THAT would be fun.

I think Nos making friends with the main cast and his former enemies seems like a naturally plotbunny for his character. I mean, when I think of fic for him, I think of interaction with characters under a generally non-threatening situation and figure how that would work. A three-way shoutmatch between King Nova, Buzz, and Nos. Nobody agrees with anyone else for more than three seconds. Now THAT would be fun. I WANNA SEE THAT.

I mean, when I think of fic for him, I think of interaction with characters under a generally non-threatening situation and figure how that would work. That'd be really appropriate for his character, too, come to think of it. He starts off as Zurg's tool to destroy Star Command, and by the end of his appearances he's usurping Zurg and trying to take his creator's job. It's like he did a u-turn: he got shot out from Planet Z, aimed towards attacking and destroying Star Command, and somehow got turned around and shot right back towards Planet Z. His character's come almost full-circle from where it started. And the best way for him to complete that circle would be for him to go back to his first enemies and ally himself with them, wouldn't it? After all, Nos is now obviously Zurg's enemy, and "my enemy's enemy..."

I dunno, NOS/Mira doesn't seem plausible to me now matter how you look at it or twist it around. Not even on a friendly basis. Firstly, because NOS isn't the friend-making type, even if he did "finish his character cycle". I honestly don't see him allying himself with Star Command, of all... people? XP Secondly, because Mira is too much of a free spirit to be chained down by someone, especially considering all that NOS has done to her and Star Command.
...However, crack-wise, the scenario of getting along with King Nova then having that three-way shouting match where Nova and Buzz agree for two secs appeals to me very much. 8DD

After all, Nos is now obviously Zurg's enemy, and "my enemy's enemy..." I loved Nos' story/character development arc, because he definitely had one. In the beginning, very much obedient, and in the end, overthrow Zurg. And I love your 'final' addition to that cycle (only in quotes since, of course, canon didn't pan out that way). Whether or not it's in character, as blacksteel questioned: well, it is fanfiction. ;D And if written well, can come up as believable. I'm a Nos fan, he's my #1 favorite, so that probably explains my belief that, yes, it's possible, and I think if Nos is inclined to bond with anyone first, it'd be XR. I just loved that in the intro ep., their interaction while XR's mind controlled--it was so cute, XR with artifical mind control care/respect (or somehow bringing out true characteristics, but manipulating them and forcing/aiming toward Nos?), and Nos--Nos seemed downright friendly to mind controlled XR, and I mean, he didn't have to friendly to his servant. And, my personal writer-ly reason: I find the process of convincingly writing Nos learning about genuine socializing and other related stuff interesting. In fanfic, I could theoretically try to apply a variety of character arcs I want with him, he's a relatively open character personality/history-wise, and I like that. On-topic: I still think platonic Nos & Mira can work, given what I said above. (Barring a bunc of history, or rising above it, they could possibly calmly neutrally discuss stuff? XP I mean, I imagine at times Nos could be polite, when not driven by his ego, or enraged, or feasting. XP)

Well, since you're a big fan of his, you know his character better than I do. Usually, if you take canon characters really out of the norm, you can achieve something like this. I know, I've tried, and it was successful. ^^ Though I've never tried that with someone like NOS.
Yeees, XR was what I was thinking. Better than Mira. Sorry, 'tis the honest truth!

Since he's my favorite, I think I'm more inclined to think of more ideas with him, and work on making them fit and developing them, since I like the character so much. Who was the canon character you took out of the norm, and it worked? (I like the idea of believably taking a canon character out of the norm.) Yeees, XR was what I was thinking. Better than Mira. Sorry, 'tis the honest truth! XR and Nos bonding first, right? (I love them as archenemies, so I guess it's only natural to see if I can reverse it.)

Who was the canon character you took out of the norm, and it worked? (I like the idea of believably taking a canon character out of the norm.) Yes, that usually does happen with favorite characters. ^^ You tend to have more ideas with them than with others. (It isn't BLoSC-related, it's from another fandom of mine, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. I like to think I handled my favorite character, Kurogane, spot on. Well, at least that's what my reviewers tell me.) XR and Nos bonding first, right? (I love them as archenemies, so I guess it's only natural to see if I can reverse it.) XR and NOS have a victim/predator-like relationship. Which already makes it easier to tackle than something else, but horribly difficult to prove otherwise. 8DD
