Shoot, this post gave the topic a new page. Okay, if you're reading this first, go back to the last page and read my two posts on the bottom. (I wasn't expecting the forum to do this to me, blast it.)
*sighs* EEZ, I have absolutely NO idea WHAT you’re talking about. You guys can’t make Star Trek references in my direction – I won’t know what the world you’re talking about!
As I said above, cyberizing your brain cannot alter your personality beyond what you allow. Technology cannot subdue your soul.
Again, I can explain that part – and I think that it would probably even make sense to you. But that really, REALLY would be ruining my stories for you! I’d rather let you find out in the stories themselves – it’s plot element stuff.
However, I’ll reiterate that in GITS, just about EVERYBODY has a cyberbrain, and there are personalities on all points of the spectrum. The cool and calculating types tend to be in law enforcement, etc. and government, and even then, I’d hardly describe the paramilitary investigators Batou and Togusa that way. Even the main character, Major Motoko Kusanagi – 31 years old, a full-bodied cyborg, and a powerful user of cyberbrain technology – is stoic and professional when on the job, and yet when off the job, still enjoys hanging out with friends, and has a sense of humor. She was also one of the early full-bodied cyborgs, undergoing that procedure when she was around 8, due to a horrific plane crash that her original body never woke up from.
His eyes can’t record on their own since they’re organic, not cybernetic or biomech. And because they’re organic, he has to rely on his cyberbrain mind’s eye, which isn’t quite the same quality as a plasma screen. If I were him, I know I’d pick the plasma over the mind’s eye. ;D
Evolution? Slap thine reprobate tongue for daring to utter such a naughty word in mine royal presence! ;D Oh, never mind! I shall slap it for thee! *slap, slap* There – thou art now forgiven.
…Sorry, but I absolutely couldn’t resist. xDDD
Umm, I’m not sure that the lungs are actually larger… As I said, I’ll have to check it over with Saron – like the other million things I have to. =P
Pfft, Zurg a stringbean! ROFL …Sorry, that just really got my funny bone, lol.
*head-desk, head-desk, head-desk* Stupidstupidstupidstupidstupidme… I SHOULD have seen that one!! Why didn’t I?? Okay, problem very easily taken care of. Thanks.
I first read that and was like “WHAAA??” So I checked my brother’s chemistry textbook (am I lucky that that’s his science study this year or what? xD), and lo and behold! …There was a LOT I’d forgotten from 11th grade Chemistry. Go figure. *grimaces*
…So, if iodine in its elemental form is poisonous, how is it that it’s healthy for us in apparently other forms? …That textbook didn’t say, and neither did the Wiki article. *rolls eyes*
I think Saron was just being cute there. How she could have glossed over the glaring fact of its poison is beyond me – if she had a plan for getting around the poison, she sure didn’t tell me.
Of course! Saron ADORES “Z” and purple! (Hence her coming up with the name “Zomega” for one of my OCs. ;D) Me, I just like whatever’ll get the job done. xD
Excuse me? O.o What’s wrong with making up elements? Sci-fi does it all the time! What do you think terillium is?
And haven’t elements still been discovered up into this very century? Can we even prove that there aren’t more elements NOT on Earth, but somewhere out there in the universe?
At any rate, Saron’s original anatomy used the word “element” in describing zerillium. I, however, wasn’t sure that it really could be an element, and just to be safe, changed the word to “substance” (the main metallic, synthetically-organic substance used in cyberization), which isn’t the same thing as an element.
Okay, so I do some more study, change a couple things here and there, leave other stuff as is…
Um, may I ask what good things, exactly? Checking back over all your points together, seemed like you pointed out something weak, wrong, or something you didn’t agree with in every point of the anatomy. I’m not taking offense, but I really would like to know what your positive thoughts are, the stuff that you think is good.
Most importantly Spock and the Tribble bit! Did you know Spock succumbed to those little furry mongrels...
*sighs* EEZ, I have absolutely NO idea WHAT you’re talking about. You guys can’t make Star Trek references in my direction – I won’t know what the world you’re talking about!
I'd have to agree on Zurg's apparent personality. He's bubbly, aloof, and not always quite there on Fridays but he certainly would act more calm and collected if he had a cybernetic brain, wouldn't he? Something bent on logic and order? Zurg is like the complete opposite: fleeting and chaotic, but with a smidgen of method to madness.
As I said above, cyberizing your brain cannot alter your personality beyond what you allow. Technology cannot subdue your soul.

And that's true! Zurg does tape Lightyear! While that might seem a tad er, odd, it does make a valid point. If Zurg had a cybernetic brain, he wouldn't need to videotape his favourite Space Ranger to hate during all their excursions and skirmishes. His eyes should be able to register the live feed, no?

And again, with nature, that's also true. Nature--through evolution--does have a tendency to balance things out in the end; it always does.

To have larger lungs would mean that the heart should at least be capable of handling the oxygen/blood flow. If its smaller, then what's the use? Things in a body are proportional and finely tuned. It's why we're all alive today.
Umm, I’m not sure that the lungs are actually larger… As I said, I’ll have to check it over with Saron – like the other million things I have to. =P
Same goes with the skinny versus muscular spiel. If he's a string bean then his muscles, sadly, will not fit the quota of a more muscular design. He'd need way more muscle mass. If you want to make it more accurate, take the nerves and apply those suckers to the prosthetic tissue.
Pfft, Zurg a stringbean! ROFL …Sorry, that just really got my funny bone, lol.

Iodine is very lethal. VERY. If he is has to be purple, make sure he can combat the lethality of iodine. It also likes to explode when mixed with ammonia and water so if Zurg has to use the restroom.....well....I'll just leave that thought right here...

Also, I wouldn't recommend making up elements since, well, they don't exist and you'd need considerable research on how they work and perform with known elements we all hear today. No matter where you are in the universe, all elements are commonly known since all come from stars long gone. Such a new element can only be crafted artificially in a laboratory of sorts, and even then, that would take time in the profession of chemistry. I would stick with surgical steel or something to that effect instead of 'zerillium'--Yes, I do hear Saron in that somewhere. XD
Of course! Saron ADORES “Z” and purple! (Hence her coming up with the name “Zomega” for one of my OCs. ;D) Me, I just like whatever’ll get the job done. xD

Anyway, our point is not to deconstruct you, Skyfire, but rather to help you improve with your theories through constructive criticism. We see many good things as well as many flaws and we want to help you see and correct them as best we can.
